Hello, I just bought a bottle of PG at my local pharmacy. it says on the bottle it is USP.

Now that being said there is also a warning on the bottom of the bottle that has got me spooked.

This is what is written on the bottle :

WARNING: Eye, Skin and lung irritant, Avoid all contact
First aid :

Eyes/Skin : Rinse with water
Inhalation : Remove to fresh air, Give oxygen if necessary
Ingestion : Induce vomiting

Is this type of stuff written on all PG bottles? Should I be concerned ?

It's just straight off of the msds for pg:

Potential Acute Health Effects:
Hazardous in case of ingestion. Slightly hazardous in case of skin contact (irritant, permeator), of eye contact (irritant), of inhalation.

Potential Chronic Health Effects:
Slightly hazardous in case of skin contact (sensitizer). CARCINOGENIC EFFECTS: Not available. MUTAGENIC EFFECTS: Not available. TERATOGENIC EFFECTS: Not available. DEVELOPMENTAL TOXICITY: Not available. The substance may be toxic to central nervous system (CNS). Repeated or prolonged exposure to the substance can produce target organs damage.

All of which is true: pg can irritate the skin and mucous membranes of some people.

The bit about central nervous system & organ damage requires some explanation, though. What they're talking about is large doses (even a heavy vapor doesn't vape "large doses"). There has been a problem in hospitals with people who get a large amount of pg in a short period of time or a larger amount over a longer time. They get it through an IV because a great many IV medications contain pg and in many of those that do, pg is the primary ingredient. When this happens, it can cause kidney damage.

But unless you're shooting up your juice, you don't have to worry about it. pg is the most well-researched component in our juice, as it has been getting inhaled by people for about 100 years.
