Hi All,
On the 27th of July I purchased an innokin CLK battery from a vendor in Australia who shall at present remain unnamed as the matter is being looked into by legal beagles. The innokin user manual clearly states and I quote:- "innokin provide a three month after sales service warranty to all or our authorized vendors."

Now this vendor from his website leads people to believe that he IS an an Authorized Innokin Vendor.

The Innokin warranty further goes on to state and I again quote:- 'Innokin's warranty does not apply to products purchased through third-party vendors"

Now this unit failed to perform correctly on last Thursday being the 1st of October 2015 I contacted the Vendor who pointed out that he only gives 30 days warranty on all batteries and Mods that he sells irrespective of what any accompanying literature states.

I contacted Innokin regarding this matter and they stated that I should return to product to my point of purchase and the vendor is obliged to honour their warranty and he the vendor, will receive a replacement from Innokin if the unit is indeed faulty with his next order from Innokin.

This information was passed on to the vendor who categorically refused stating:- " This product has been on my shelf for X number of months and you have had it since the 27th of July this product is out of warranty. I have never heard such Bull...t in my life. As stated the matter is in the hands of my legal advisor and at this stage I cannot name the vendor. I write this post to warn other intending purchasers to double check if indeed you are dealing with an authorized distributor of a product and also the documentation pertaining warranty and if that distributor will honour the manufacturers warranty.

No the problem is not resolved. I wrote to Innokin and they gave me an Authoried vendorr in Fivedock NSW Australia.
Sorry to hear that... Hope you get this resolved...
Furtther to this the vendor maintains he does not have to give the warranty stipulated in the Innokin paperwork accompanying their products and this is bull...., as I have corresponded with Inokin and they said had he contacted them they would have sent him a replacement. He even declined to examine the faulty product.

Sounds like a really shady dealer.
Did you walk in and buy it from a brick and mortar store?
If so, that's pretty bold of them.

Yes it is now a brick and morter store, the matter has been referred to our Dept of Fair Trading. Having corresponded with Innokin, I have been advised that only Authorised Innokin Dealers are obliged to give stipulated warranties in their documentation. Third party on sellers do not have to do so. So if your store be it brick and mortar or online, buys his or her products wherever in China be they whatever brand genuine or clone then they can give whatever warranty they wish. In AU it is a mandatory warranty of 30 days. Just because a vendor sells a particular brand does not make them Authorised vendors for that brand. Yes it all suxs but as you know this industry is not regulated and its do as you please. Well, I stopped buying from this vendor and there are many better products on the market than Innokin.

Warranties on goods is a very tricky issue and is used many retailers to move tons of goods, which I am not saying is bad, but that allows them to wash their hands of issues and refuse to process returns on behalf of their customers in good faith. They do this to cut costs for operations.

I bought a laptop from a retailer and they would NOT replace a bad battery for me b/c I did not buy an extended warranty. Thus anything purchased from them, if DOA on arrival, would then cause me to have to deal with the manufacturer. Uggg... By the time I got around to doing anything about it, the warranty on the $500 battery from the manufacturer had expired. My fault b/c I did not act quickly enough in this case. Lesson learned: test all goods immediately upon purchase while inside the store if possible.

Vender/Retailer: Fry's
Laptop: Sony Vaio

This, this and this. Fire that bad boy up before you leave any BandM. It's the only advantage, usually, to buying from them.
That is all well and good when at the store. But when you buy mail order and it is a gift for some one then its hard to do.
As I already stated, Innokin clearly said to me in their correspondence that only Authorised Inokin Dealers are obligated to fulful the Innokin advertised warranty. This shonk was not an authorised dealer although his website gives the impression that he is. I am unable to name him as the matter is in legal hands. The Chinese are smark cookies. Even if you buy yourself direct from China. " Oh Yesee we givee replacement WITH YOUR NEXT ORDER! " What makes you think I am going to give you another order if you sold me Sh... in the first place. I used to deal with a vendor in China who was then known as E.Cig .com three times they sent me sh...ok I no longer deal with them. The last item was consigned to the trash bin and I only deal with one company now in China and that is Heavens Gifts who are honest.
