Hi, All...

Haven't posted in a long while, but I wanted to share some information with you regarding atty cleaning. I've tried them all...boiling in water, soaking coke, treating with Polident, etc., all with mixed results.

A couple weeks ago, however, I accidentally left one of my spare attys in my pants pocket and ran it through the washer and dryer. When I went to check if it still worked, it was every bit as good as a brand new atty. As I mentioned, it was a spare, an older one that I carried around for backup in case my working atty gave out on me suddenly. It was otherwise a candidate for the trash bin.

So yesterday, I decided to launder two other old attys. A weak one, and one that had gone completely dead on me. Both are working as if brand new. I still keep them separate from my un-laundered attys (I'm going to assume they could go out on my at any time, given the rough treatment they received), but I just wanted to pass this along in others might want to give it a shot.

Do they take on a weird flavor from the detergent?
You use a front or top loader?
I don't think they'd get as abused in the front. I have a couple that don't work like they used to, maybe I'll toss them in.
It sure would simplify matters.

When you washed the other two atty's, did you put them in a pants pocket or did you just throw them in there by themselves. Also what kind/brand of detergent (if any) did you use.

Did you use hot or cold water?

More details are needed...Did you dry the atty's in the dryer after the wash? Any more info would help.
