Hi, All...
Haven't posted in a long while, but I wanted to share some information with you regarding atty cleaning. I've tried them all...boiling in water, soaking coke, treating with Polident, etc., all with mixed results.
A couple weeks ago, however, I accidentally left one of my spare attys in my pants pocket and ran it through the washer and dryer. When I went to check if it still worked, it was every bit as good as a brand new atty. As I mentioned, it was a spare, an older one that I carried around for backup in case my working atty gave out on me suddenly. It was otherwise a candidate for the trash bin.
So yesterday, I decided to launder two other old attys. A weak one, and one that had gone completely dead on me. Both are working as if brand new. I still keep them separate from my un-laundered attys (I'm going to assume they could go out on my at any time, given the rough treatment they received), but I just wanted to pass this along in others might want to give it a shot.
