Can someone enlighten me, why don't we use just distilled water instead of PG VG?

Water is so thin that it would leak out everywhere. Also, I think it takes much more power to vaporize water than PG or VG
Also, you can mix in 10% distilled water for clearer flavor, and better vaping performance. My favorite ratio is 45/45/10 pg vg water 
i`m not sure of all the reasons it can`t be done but if it would work then all vendors would be doing it to cut costs. occasionally i see a post here about a vendors juice being "as thin as water"....maybe they are cutting the juice to save money? just thinking out loud and i`m probably wrong on this but throwing it out there.
I'm no physicist so I can't explain why PG/VG vapor is nice and cool, but perhaps straight-up water would produce 212 degree scorching steam?

I use Water to thin Pure VG in All my DIY Recipes. But I Need/Want a some PG (about 25%) to give my Mixes some TH.
Without a some PG, my e-Liquids taste Kinda Flat.
But I know some people who Use 100% VG. And the Only PG that the use is from what Comes from their Flavoring Bases.

This actually is ideal, I have a few questions as a new DIY'er in the E-Cig world.
Why add water, is there a reason to it?
What is the Ideal percentage to add?
What kinds of water work (Distilled, Deionized...ect)?
In a pre-mix, would you cut the VG first then go about making your premix or do you add it as an "Ingredient" to both PG/VG?
Sorry to badger with questions but I'm curious as to what the answers are to the questions as they have been rolling about in my head for some time.

Scorching steam was pretty much word for word what my long winder explanation would have started with. lol
I've added water to my vape in the past, but two things about it caused me to stop doing that. 1) it causes the "atty pop" a GREAT deal more than either PG or VG, and once popped me in the lips with scalding ejuice; 2) it causes A LOT more condensate to build up inside the driptip, so you have to swab it out a lot more often, or it runs down into the chimney and causes gurgle.
Pg and VG are both hygroscopic, but actual water is not; PG/VG is why we can exhale visible vapor even at temperatures above 54F -- the normal temp at which the breath can be seen as vapor -- it draws the moisture from mucous membrane tissues, which we exhale as visible vapor.

I found out why my fruit juices taste like, well kind of bland in a sense, will be employing some methods mentioned to get some distance out of what I mix.

I add Water because it Kinda takes the Edge of some Flavors. And Makes Flavors like Fruit taste more like Real Fruit. And Less like Fruit Candy. Does that make Sense?
I add enough Water to my Pure VG to make the Final Mix just a Tad Thicker than PG.
I use Bottled Water.
I like to Dilute my Pure VG and then place it in a Bottle labeled VG + H2O. The when the Recipe calls for VG, I grab the VG + H2O bottle and measure from it.

Sometimes a Mix will come up a little Thick. This happens when the Recipe doesn't call for a High Amount of Flavoring. So at the end of the Mix, if the Final e-Liquid looks a little Thick, I'll add a half eyedropper full of water to thin it about.
A Thin e-Liquid Always wicks Better than a Thick e-Liquid. And Poor wicking is what Causes Dry Hits.
