We overslept big time! So today we just packed the truck and SUV. The truck rental will be next week/ So I will be gone3 sat. and most of Sunday.
I am putting together a series of before during and after pictures of our progress. I'll post them as we get back.
My friend Paula should be posting in here soon, so be nice and don't ask for too many secrets! We have known each other since we met in Cheyenne 34 or so years ago!
Fudgy and Notso..I understand but Safira! You have gone over to the dark side too? LOL

Free to a good home! One overused hubby! Today I planned to take some dining room and office stuff down and clean the kitchen. We loaded the truck and at about 9pm Mike decides it's not right. We had to reload!
Then we get to Tampa and he can't figure out the side, turn and and rotate way to get things like tables and odd pieces of furniture in a door way!
Mean while we are carrying in a heavy book case he decides he needs a rest..half way thru the door! Now my knee hurts from straining to lower the book case alone!
Number one reason to murder him is that he decided I needed a 32 inch flatscreen in my dining /office area. It's 10 feet wide and 15 feet long. my desk is floating in the middle of the room which puts me about 6 feet from the screen. It is too big..I told him it was too big when we bought it..I talked him out of 1080 i and said 720 p or what ever is fine...he managed to find a great sale on 1080 for the 720 price. THEN I find out that what he wants for his bedroom is a 32 inch 1080i !!!!!!!!!!!! Sneaky SOB!
He was going to wait for his until after the move..now he gets to buy mine NOW!
As I said..Murder or free to a so so home..one hubby!

Well here's a blow by blow for step 1 and 2..paint and furniture. next comes my china cabinet and book cases. Then the blinds and decorating!

first step 1 paint..we are doing the yellow very light..it's a very creamy pale yellow. It shows up best in the morning and afternoom. At night it kind of glows in the lamp light. The other color was my ex son in laws idea of off white..it's light brown! Ok so he's color blind!
kitchen4.jpg

The half book case wouldn't come down! She had it build in and the wall is cinderblock..so I guess it will get painted along with the walls...lol The door was blocked in ..it will get painted too untill we can knock it out and put a door back in.

kitchen2.jpg

Step 2 funiture! Barebones so far..no decoration or wood blinds yet. My daughters dog pretty much wrecked the white ones.

kitchen5.jpg

the desk is in and my book case. But it feels a bit crowded. I need the guys over to help move it..it is L shaped so we need 3 to do it!

kitchen3.jpg

Just a different view..you can see the window to the kichen. Right over my little TV is where my flat screen will go.

kitchen1.jpg

The pantry's are in! next to it is my Mom's antique china cabinet. yeah I know they are two different colors but I thought my daughter was taking it! Oh well it be painted a sage green. (It is in dire need of paint.) The open door is to the carport.

kitchen6.jpg

The matching sideboard and my tiny little kitchen! There is room on the other side of the fridge for a trashcan . On the near side is the rolling cart..but that picture didn't come out..next time.

kitchen8.jpg

Remember my agonizing over a stained glass swag lamp? Well my daughter gave me her potporrri hanging holder. So I have painted it gold and will put it on a swag lamp. Since it it clear glass my daughter suggested lining it with colored sea glass (no chance of fire! But now I have to figure out what kind of glue to use. (I am not fond of gassing my guests! unless it's with refried beans!) Anyway a project for pennies that will give me a faux stained glass swag! Now to get one of my guys to assemble the swag kit.

Thanks, Tonight we packed up all the videos and DVD's. We pared the 1000 video's down to 200 and that was not as hard as I thought it would be! All those horder shows are paying off big time! I need my 3 floor to celing (almost) bookcases to hold books, video's dvd's and all my audio/cd books! I need to pare down the audio/cd books a bit too. I already did my books.
What I am dreading is my picture frames! I have hundreds. I guess I will have to get the digital picture frames soon.

I need some of that energy too. Mk I have a lot of picture frame's to, I just put them all in one of those plastic totes and take the out as I need then or find a place for them, after your in you might find a wall or two that can use some picture's or so on, so don't get rid of them right away, at least keep you favorite's.

Got the book cases in. We tried using cement screws..big nails you name it! Mike finally got mad and beat the heck out of the cement crews with a hammer and the brace board was finally up. We could then attach the book cases th the board (once filled they could really hurt if they fell over!). I was way too tired to start filling them.
They disapeared the end window! That shold help a bit with the heat out there.

Mike hung one of my sunflower pics.

We managed to get the china cabinet in without losing it on the freeway (a strap broke causing us to pull over, I saw it from my SUV..Mike was in front with the truck) or ramming it into a doorway. Not sure how though! Blue willow serving ware was with me safe and sound!

100_0590.jpg

here's the rolling cart..the leaf is down, but when it is extended that gives me a 3 1/2 by 4 foot counter top! Sorry about all the junk on top.

100_0594.jpg

I won't be throwing out pictures or picture frames! I already have 2 of those tubs filled with frames and have enough to fill a couple more. The pictures will go in my filling cabinets until I decide where to put them.
Energy? Are you kidding! I am so tired I am reeling. That's why we pack one day go down to tampa..stay the night..unpack and work then come back up here for the night or two. I feel like a Gypsy! I may need some bangles and a tamborine!
