The story of our new house.............We bought 8 acres of land not from from Lawton OK. We wanted to get our kids (who were 12 and 7 at the time) out of the bigger schools. We had a 5 year plan to get a house built. We bought a mobile home to live in while we built our house. We wanted to do it as we could afford it and not have a mortgage. My husband had to have a total knee replacement, the other knee had to have ACL replaced, and shoulder reconstuction surgery. I had to have jaw surgery because a dentist broke my jaw and my daughter had to have surgery on both of her knees. So our 5 year plan has turned into a 10 year plan. We bought a shell of a house from the military base and now we have most of the interior done. Here's the kitchen (minus a bit of trim work) We work on it in the evenings and weekends and I can't wait to have it all completed and NO mortgage 
This is a small house, 1000 sq ft and only 2 bedrooms but in a year we will be childless. We had a large home (5 bedrooms) when the kids were small and I spent all my weekends cleaning. So to save time and money we went small this time I can clean the whole thing in a few hours!
