we start on the living room next. Then the bedrooms. We already have mattresses and box springs down there. Mike still has the whole garage to move into storage untill he can decide what to keep and what to sell. The kitchen is lacking just one shelf that needs to go up and of course all the pots, pans dishes and food!
What slowed us down was all the painting and repairs that needed to be done first. We figure that we should be moved in by the 1st. but then we get to clean up this place and get rid of the leftovers!

I am sore and tired..but we are finally to the break point! Tomorrow we will be taking a big U-haul down to Tampa and getting the big furniture in. Then it's just a matter of getting pictures and odds and ends for the next week until next week when we get the gargae stuff down there. We will start living in Tampa starting to tomorrow. Just day trips back up here for the next week or so to finish up. I can almost see light at the end of the tunnel.
Wait until you guys see the dining/office! It is almost done!

It's not weird at all. it's the house I grew up in. My mom and dad had it built right behind my grandparents home. My cousins, aunts and uncles lived all around us within 3 blocks of each other. The house does not look at all like my mom's on the inside now. She used one color paint thruout (ecru) and never ever moved one stick of furnitue in 50 years! But I am using a mix of her stuff, mine and some new to shake things up, different placement on the furniture and repurposing rooms. I told Mike I want it to refect us and not make me feel 6 years old again!
It's nice that one of my childhood friends moved back in with her dad to take care of him(2 doors down) and another now lives in her mom's house.(behind us) I even have a couple of cousins left in the neighborhood. I have already had friends stop by to say hi. So no not weird..home at last!

Hi MK and all!
You guys are making me feel guilty, I can't even work up the energy to go get out my behemoth Dyson. Damn thing makes me tired just to look at it parked in the corner (closet is full!).
Looks like your new old home is coming nicely, MK! Will be nice to make that circle to home complete, God's Speed!!
I watch the Hoarder shows too, trying to get some ideas about how to motivate husband's who need more stuff and don't know what to do with the stuff they have. Definitely a psycological thing. I tell the kids there's gonna be a box of matches on the counter when we die, take what you want and proceed to burn the place down, Eternal Flame thing. Marshmallows allowed.
I just pray I'm not faced with life after his demise, OMG I'll be mad. I'll still have to do it all on my own if that happens. Right now I'm telling myself I'm just too busy to think about it, I'm trying to dispatch the last work out of my shop. I figure I can save more money than I can make by not doing anything. My hands are shot, people are tired of waiting for their furniture. I totally get it.

But the quiet of night does have a way of showing truth to fantasy...and low-hanging cobwebs...
Hope everyone stays well and happy!

I have a big girl T.V.! Both kids and both grands were in the dining/office watching a movie tonight...meanwhile Mike had the big T.V. and the living room all to himself! LOL
Mike is already regretting this move..they all had dinner and I ran the boys around all afternoon!

The swag lamp is up and assembled..but the tumbled glass is not in place yet. I have to glue all the pieces yet. I put some of those battery operated flamless candles in, just for fun. They give off a flickering light and smell like cookies!

The books/video, CD's, audio books and DVD's are in, the computer is up and running.

Still don't have the top shelf filled...We are almost done. I still have a bit of painting to do and the blinds..then we are done! Mike is working on my closet (the smallest bedroom) we have the rods up for the double hung clothes rack and the shelves up for the shoes. A work in progress.

He is just being silly because the kids are already here all the time eatting us out of house and home! The boys love having Grandma here to watch movies with and cook with. Daughter likes the free babysitting and the fact that I can help with all Jake's school projects. (we did a vetran's Day project last night featuring his Grandpa's Military career..complete with picture of now and then.) My daughter is working about 70 hours a week right now! My son likes having me here to play real time scrabble with and try new recipes out on. (he is a chef in training.) My friend comes for coffee and another comes by when she goes for a walk in the evening so I can walk with her.
On the flip side Mike now has his fishing buddy back. Mike will get his gear from St. Cloud this week and start fishing this weekend (he thinks)
I have my annual Woman's Group back to the 60's dance on Saturday..busy, busy this week!

Hi Class! Maybe in January I will get back to the Fla. vapers club. Right now life is hectic and will get more so in the next month.

Thanks everyone! The work continues..I can't wait for carpet in my dressing room/little bedroom. All the clothes are hung and the shoes are up..no more shoe matching games on the floor of my closet!

One more U-haul down. All Mikes tools and work benches. The yard stuff. More kitchen stuff some decorative stuff and best of all my pictures!!!!! I also got my washer and dryer, but the plug on the dryer doesn't fit! Drat! The refigerators are swaped out and my daughter got my porch swing.

I have the dance on Sat. so I need to get some me time tomorrow. My nails looks horrid and my hair needs coloring..starting to look like pepe lepew!

Update on how the house is turning out!
First up my /small bedroom turned walk in closet! It's coming along great! I need to do some decorating and decide on a curtain and rug color. The wood boards for the shoes can be painted then.
shoes and purses:

shrits and slacks, winter jackets are coming.

My appliance shelf..still on the fence about this but I need what counter space I have and there is no where else to put them. Mike is going to put cup hooks under for my coffee cups. I am thinking about painting the wall a medium sage green to contrast the white appliances.

I got my Mom's china cabinet loaded. the Micro is in it's place. I would like a smaller one in white in the future..this one sticks out a bit.

Almost finished with the swag lamp..I can only put a row of glass in at a time let it cure and then do another.
