However, I still think FDA is in a conundrum and paralyzed with uncertainty over how to move forward. The fact that he said he found e-cigarettes "interesting" tells me that FDA doesn't quite know how to deal with
e-liquid--a "
tobacco product" that doesn't contain any
tobacco, can be had with zero nicotine levels and is made from commercially available products, all with many other known uses.
What are you gonna do, ban ketchup because it contains tomato sauce? After all, tomatoes, like tobacco, are members of the nightshade family and contain trace amounts of nicotine.
Mark my words: October will come and go with either toothless "deeming" regulations regarding e-cigs, or no regulations at all.
