HOUSE BILL 170 BY REP. PAUL RAY (yes the same guys that tacked e-cigs onto the end of a bill last year.. has done it again folks.
Whats this bill about?
This Bill could:
1. Ban the sale of non-tobacco flavored cigars and smokeless tobacco.
2. Ban online sales by requiring face-to-face sales transactions for e-cigarettes. (this means no INTERNET ORDERS)
3. Prohibit the sale of an electronic cigarette "that does not have a switch that enables an individual to turn off the electronic cigarette."
The First reading of the Bill in the house is Feb 25th at 4 p.m. at
450 State Capitol, Utah State Capitol Complex.
We do not believe that anyone will be able to speak at this meeting as it is the first reading of the bill.. but please be advised to keep an eye on the bill!! They normally only give 24 hours before they do the 2nd reading/vote!! That is when we need people to PHYSICALLY show up! Make your voices heard! Tell them why they should NOT ban internet sales and keep vaping legal here in Utah!!
I am hoping as many of my Utah customers as possible will be able to show up and make their voices heard! And if you can't show up PLEASE write letters to all of the reps! They do absolutely help!
We beat the bill last year with common sense. We all sent letters, and had people show up and state facts.. ie: there is not antifreeze in e-cigs.. no its not harmful to others.. it has helped save lives etc and if they ban them it will condemn thousands of smokers here in Utah to a death sentence and go back to smoking. We need to get all of the mis-information out there!
