Who needs a sale. I would be perfectly happy paying regular price if I could just get my order in when you open. :)

Here's probably the most unpopular post of the day. Although my money is always tight, I'm opposed to the sale because it will cause those with faster computers, deeper pockets, and speedier fingers to use it to stock up on large quantities even if they still have juice or can vape juice from other sites. I have at most a week's worth left and am already rationing what I have. After what happened in December, I learned to not wait until I was at the 2 week to 10 days point to reorder but to do it a month out. (Your birthday gift was so more than appreciated, but I dare not say more on a public forum or everyone will take note.)

This time, I tried to order the day after you shut down about 5 1/2 weeks ago. I realize you shut down to protest all of us, yourselves included. I have had cc fraud from other suppliers' credit card processors and know what a hassle it is. So thanks for keeping as many of us safe from that as you could.

As you know, I simply can't find any other 100% VG juice in fruit flavors that doesn't have such a strong perfume odor that I can have it in the house, what with 2 family members with asthma.

Yes, I understand that the sale will drive the peak load of your site to its max and that is a good test for you, but I also see it as seriously decreasing my chances of getting an order placed even with me marking off from work every morning to be home to try to get an order placed (I did this 3 days last week). None of this is a hit at you; you are not responsible for fulfilling my juice needs. When we first talked about your future site before you started your business, I never could have envisioned any of this. I do wish I could get a PM to you directly occasionally, but I have come to realize that this is often not at all possible. I am not always available to my clients either so I totally understand it.

So here is my most unpopular suggestion. Forgo your sale driven test for a couple of days and only offer full price juice for the truly desperate for the first few days you are open. Hopefully, those who really need the juice will be able to order. Then, start your sale and test a couple of days later and watch what happens with your servers for the test. I will try to place a 2nd order for more juice during this period during the sale but at least will not be facing bad nicotine withdrawal along with the already present hot flashes (also not your fault).

Think of it as a humanitarian gesture. Allowing people at pay full price is sometimes a gift in itself because it allows them access to the product. I wish there was a way to say all this privately to you instead of using the forum. Thanks, Ben, just for being there and caring enough to put the resources and energy into all of the retooling I know reopening has cost you.

I have an idea for future sales after we all get through this restocking phase. Why not set up on your site something like the repeating fulfillment model that Amazon uses on some consumable products. We could put in an order and say how often we want it to be delivered in months. Then we can change it, so long as it is outside of a week to 10 days of the ship date, so we are not having to erase it and start over if we want to change quantity or nic level or flavor. Most of us probably won't change much and it will give you a fairly accurate idea of recurring demand so you can have the supplies on hand (also, think of it as a fair idea of recurring income).

A week or so before shipping, the software sends an auto email reminding the customer of the contents of the order, the amount that will be charged to their credit card, and the charge and ship date. They have a couple of days to make any necessary changes, you guys fill the order, charge the card, and ship the order. Personally, I would sign up for this in a heartbeat. I bet a lot of your regulars would do so as well. It's a smooth system; the software does most of the work; and you know ahead of time what you need to fulfill regular orders. You also both get to relax a bit more, which I am sure both of you need.

This doesn't solve the immediate situation but it is an idea for future possibilities.

All over the place
Here is our official update as of 5/31:

We would like to thank everyone for waiting patiently while our store redesign is being finished, your wait is almost over! We will be tentatively reopening on June 3rd with the understanding that we will be encountering and fixing a few bugs as we finish our first day after using the new website.

AVEjuice.com will maintain an order capacity limit to ensure we do not take more orders than we can process in a given day. This will mean that while we will open around 8am PST our operating times will likely be brief as we collect orders and meet demand. We've more than doubled our stock and nearly doubled our work team while we've been offline, so this adjustment period should be short.

The website is running but our redesign is only at a half-way point, you can expect to encounter new content and general bug fixes to roll out in the days following our opening. Some of the current bug and glitches we are aware of and working on, e.g. no sign-in link on home page, generic graphic on invoices, some browser version display issues (with older browsers). If you encounter ANY bug or glitch feel free to let us know via our "Contact us" link in our Help section.

What else is there to cover?

Oh sales! Yes, we will be opening up with a 25% discount on all items for the first week we are active. You can call it whatever type of discount you'd like but it is really a bonus for those customers who have been supportive and patient during our down-time. I had no good estimate on how long we would be down and now that we are towards the end I'm glad that I didn't. We've gone well over any time limit I would have set myself, but the flipside to that is that we've been able to concentrate specifically on the website and how it flows and functions. The result is a nice website with easy ordering and product selection.

There is more news coming this weekend before we open so stay tuned!

This information will be posted across those social forums we use: Twitter, FaceBook, Electronic Cigarette Forum, etc. We ask that any specific questions on individual issues be sent to us via our "Contact Us" form on our websites front page. We encourage comments here but please know that they may not be responded to if we cannot get to them in a timely fashion.

P.S. - I know this is a bit general and generic but it is also our default response across all of the social sites. I'll be stopping in throughout the weekend to *hopefully* answer your questions.

I need a "forum" in the strictest defined sense of the word. A place for people to come and openly share ideas on a certain subject. This is that place. We can call the subject "AVE Juice"

The post said "tentatively" so while I hope it does reopen, there is a chance it may not (that is, if I am reading "tentatively" correctly.)

I posted the other post by Porphy because I think he has been real cool about the business advice, but he did say he wanted this to be about "AVE Juice" as the "subject."
