I love me some porn:D Been married to long to not appreciate it's tremendous atribitutes:D

Anyway, I swear by Avast and CCleaner, both free, and both work awsome! CCleaner with clean out the registry, all of the internet trash, it's simple! I know people that swear by AVG, I haven't had that good of luck with it.
I disspise Norton and McAfee, they both have major software conflicts and don't work as well.
I need a Mac for my porn addiction, but I've reverted back to XP (Vistas SUCKS!) Google Chrome, CCleaner and Avast seem to keep me running:D

2nd! But if you are interested try Win 7, it's Miles better than Vista's puke. I couldn't stand Vista myself and used XP Professional till I got my Win 7 beta

Malwarebytes

Close everything thats running. Install it. Let it update. Then run quick scan. Have it delete all the things it finds, let restart your computer.

I have had to clean this stupid malware crap out of 3 computers last week. Crazy that anti-virus software doesn't block this crap by now.

I recommend you install firefox, then get the NoScript plugin, and AdBlock Plus pluggin. You will be much safer from these attacks. One of my clients got this same friggin malware from facebook site. Its hidden inside malicious adds that use clearclick. noscript blocks and warns you of clearclick. You can pick this up anywhere that sells add space, it just so happens porn sites have lots of add space, so more likely to get hit there.

In addition to updated spyware and anti virus I would also recommend Malwarebytes.org there is a free version.

Malwarebytes is what I use to clean computers at work and I have never not been able to clean a system with. Depends on what you got you might have to go into Safe Mode and then run it. The malware that looks like anti virus is going around strong again.

Well this is what everyone else is saying too. LOL

For my home use I use Kaspersky Internet and so far it hasn't hit me at home.

Not that Im the admin or anything but I can guarantee this didn't come form V4L.

Try to use Ubuntu if all you need is internet and office applications:

Ubuntu 9.10 Feature Tour | Ubuntu

You can even install it as any other program inside windows, then at the start up you can choose to use Ubuntu or windows.

Neither Ubuntu or Kubuntu would work with my ethernet card. It was fine at install, but once I downloaded the updates it killed my internet. Cheap Acer laptop.
From what I've heard of 7 it's good, but I am not going to put $300 of software in a $100 PC! I missed the beta, right after I read the reviews and liked what I read, too late!
I love the ease and simplicity of Linux, but it hates my computer!

Yeah, that is the bad thing about linux, once you get a hardware problem you are done with it =P

I don't know much about linux, but I know taht if you install it and everything works out of the box, then you can really have peace of mind knowing you will never get virus or spyware.

Plantlvr did you get this fixed? I just started getting the same message. I have Kaspersky on my computer ( It's a new computer and I'm not sure about loading anything on it.) Did you use the malwarebytes and did it fix the problem?

I did use malwarebytes, thanks for all the links everyone! It found ten infected items so I think everything is OK now.
