I've been having issues with sleep this week. For some reason my body clock keeps waking me up at 2:30am this week. I get home from work and am exhausted, fall asleep who knows when, and wake up at 2:30am every morning. I do eventually get back to sleep..usually around 3-3:30, but this is getting old. Anybody else? My body clock has never been one to wake me up (even when I'm supposed to get up at the same time every morning). :?:

Maybe try some adding some white noise to your environment? That has worked for me in similar situations in the past. I set up a very small fan on my bureau a few feet away from the bed, and turn it on at bedtime. The soft, steady drone of the fan motor seems to be enough to keep me sleeping until the alarm goes off in the morning.

If you've got a small fan handy, it's worth a shot, I'd say.

maureen;

May have nothing to do with nicotine, but I did notice your last analog was on 1/20, so could be getting adjusted to vaping only. However, if I may ask a delicate question, could it be your hormones are changing? That is one of the first signs, and it will never end now, at least in my experience. Sorry if that is too personal, just trying to help out.

Wow TT...your balls have gotten bigger in the last few days....I think we all know that I'd rather dream of your cute cows...
That and I know your wife would kick my .... if I thought otherwise :)

Maureen, I'm pretty sure its because your mind is so focused on ME that its keeping you awake. I know I'm good looking and all and its must be hard for you to try to think of other things, but give it your best shot so you can get some rest.

You can do it. Think of Ab, for example ...

5vz,

I would hope it's not a hormonal thing...I'm only 34...

Yep, it's the nightmares of when she caught you trying to squeeze through her window to steal her juice that's waking her.

She counts AB's to feel safe enough to get back to sleep.

Honestly, it is something we all struggle with. Often times, Ab and I will just talk about how we pale in compari....

Wow. I can't even finish that. I just feel dirty now.

I think that it is a chemical change going from cigs to vaping. There are over 4000 chemicals in cigs and nicotine is the least of them. I am on a fairly strong medication right now that I have been on for 3 years. When I first started on it, I woke up every single morning at 4AM on the dot. Luckily my sister is an over the road truck driver and I would just call and talk to her until I could get back to sleep. But it did stop after several months when I adjusted to the medication. Since I quit smoking and started vaping I find that I sleep very heavy. Give it awhile and I bet that your sleep will return to normal.

BTW- I started going through menopause at 40 and was done with it (pretty much) by 43. Never say never.

I have a tendency to vape too much at night while sitting here at the computer or watching TV. I have found that Melatonin helps me relax and go to sleep faster as well as keeping me asleep thru the night. You can also take it if you wake up in the middle of the night with no droggy side effects the next day. You can buy it over the counter. My favorite brand is called Mid-Nite. Melatonin is all-natural and not habit-forming or addictive. I don't take it every night, just the nights I feel wound up!

I get that too, but I have been know to get up early anyway, even on the darn weekends. I don't know how to sleep in and have been told that I suck at napping...sigh. Got used to waking at 3:30 to get to work earlier for a project, but on regualr days, I still get up at 3:30, so a long day even if I go to bed late, still up early. I hope this phase passes.

Oh...no...I've never had a problem sleeping in...sometimes over my loud ... alarm clock (which my boss doesn't appreciate). It's weird...I'm exhausted between like noon and 2 and then I'm okay for the rest of the day. I'm usually a night owl (right now i just got home from volleyball -late vb night). I could sleep all day on weekends I think...but I usually have to do that to make up for what I miss during the week...not lately. I do have a gum infection and maybe that's not helping...the advil only lasts 4 hours....I hope this phase passes too div....I'm starting to wonder though, because I haven't "not smoked" since I was a kid so who knows....it'll be what it be i guess....

Yes, but it is bound to be better without the cigs.
