Week Two - It Was Hell !!!!

So, I'm just coming up to the end of my second week without a cigarette and I have to say this has been a real challenge.

The "e-Health" V9 cig-alike starter kit I started with became useless after the first few days, and a 510-T kit arrived just in time to save my sanity. I've been using it for about 10 days but the lack of good smoke production and short battery life has been almost unbearable. It may be sacrilegious to say this, but there were a few times I longed for the simplicity of a real tobacco cigarette. I'm finding that the 280mAh batteries produce just enough smoke on the first few draws after recharging, then it all tastes pretty bland.

I found myself sleeping long hours and feeling like rubbish when I woke. If it hadn't been for a varied supply of Swedish Snus I don't think I would have made it this far. The last couple of days I've had the distinct taste of burnt lungs and blood in my mouth at least part of each day. On the other hand my heart rate has been much calmer, lung pain has almost gone completely, and the usual brain fog is slowly lifting. All these improvements are what keep me going.

Early next week the latest round of hardware I ordered should be arriving. Funny that I've gone through two complete evolutions of hardware already and now patiently await rounds three and four. There's an 1100mAh eGo kit with an extra two pass-through batteries, and a Lavatube Lambo V2 mod with four 4200mAh batteries due to hit the mailbox any time now. Also a heap of 3.5ml 510-compatible tanks and a Li-Ion charger for the 18650 batteries.

My sister-in-law started at the same time and her V9 batteries completely died a few days ago, so I gave her all of mine to keep her going until she has money for something better. She's looking at the 510-T now, wish I could convince her to get something better but being a much lighter smoker maybe it will be enough.

Financially I know this is the right way to go. In another two weeks I will have broken even and then I'll be able to save money at an alarming rate. In fact the bank account is already looking better and I have a huge supply of e-juice, enough to keep me going for 9-12 months at the current rate of usage.

In summary, my advice for those who are struggling is to hang in there and vape on!

Well I think we all have been there after quitting with analog cigarettes. My advice to those who are new to e cigarettes would be not to buy the cheap starter kits but to go for a good variable voltage mod combined with a Vivi Nova. I also started out with a cheap kit and found it very difficult to keep up the vaping and not to smoke an analog cigarette. Then I purchased a L Rider Lambo and a Vivi nova and things went much better. I love vaping now and haven't touched a real cigarette since. So go for quality and not for the cheap things

I'm still new, especially to the 650 but I've found it to be fine so far and like everybody else I was running into serious problems quickly with cig-alikes. Maybe I don't vape enough which really suprises me becuase I woulda thought I was kind of a heavy vaporer. I started my first full day with one in the morning not knowing what to expect. One battery went the entire work day and I got home and threw it on the charger and fired up the spare. Before bed I took the original off and put the spare back on the charger. Two fully loaded guns ready to fire for the next day!

I thought of ordering the twist but I'm not sure now. I would think I'm in a pretty small minority but I've found so far the regular EGO works plenty good enough. Maybe they wear down over time I don't know.

At that transition time when I gave up on the cig-alikes I went back to full time smoking while waiting for a decent PV to ship. I haven't completely given up the smokes but I've cut back a good 90% and any changes I feel in my day to day health has been for the better.

Well things are getting better. Today my eGo 1100mAh and dual-coil tube tanks arrived, what a difference!!!!!

Now I finally have something that is BETTER than a cigarette there's no reason to go backwards. In fact I let my sister-in-law try it and she immediately asked me to order one for her too.

The Lambo should be here by the end of the week, can it get any better than this? :)

Wow, I can't believe cigs cost so much in Australia!?!? I'd have had to quit a long time ago at that price. Best of luck to you! I think you will find it gets easier and easier, especially with the right juices and equipment.

Yeah, the taxes are a killer here. This is what we pay for the Australian Government's amateur experiments in social engineering ...
