So I'm two weeks into vaping. Admittedly I'm part timing it, still on analogs a bit. That's mostly due to frustration with trying to find the right setup. I started with a 510 manual/cart kit, which was ill-fated from the start. Between filling carts every 5 minutes and changing/charging batteries every hour it was a royal pain in the rear. The carts are nearly impossible to fill without clogging the air holes- after a few beers it's like threading a needle. And they leak. Every time I touch it, I get sticky e-juice everywhere. I think I've absorbed more nicotine through my skin and gums than from vaping.

And I've tried different stuff, but the waiting time for deliveries is brutal. I got all geared up to make a big change, then found all these roadblocks in my way.

I found myself beating myself up for going back to analogs. I got mad at myself, at the gear, everything. So last night I took out my frustration on my credit card and ordered a Provari and ibtank setup.

Out of all of this I have some advice fore newbies, hopefully it will be helpful.

  • Do not plan on quitting analogs the day you get your new setup. It may happen, but more than likely you'll need to tweak your setup to fit your lifestyle and needs. Be patient!
  • Figure out what batteries work for you and order several different top end options. I like my Vivi Nova, except that it leaks. If I had to do it over again, I'd go with Twist batteries, a Nova, a couple Kangers, and a couple other options.
  • Plan on lengthy delivery times. Order spares of everything.
  • Plan to spend a bit figuring things out. A $60 kit gets you going but is only the start. My advice would be to plan on $200 to start.
  • Order the flavors you like, but also get a bottle of 36mg. You may need it to get over analogs.
  • Have backups of everything- at least two ways to charge batteries, a USB pass through, plenty of extra carts or whatever. You will need to add on to any basic kit to get all this, but you will need it. My charger died a week after I got it, and getting a new one meant 10 days without vaping.
  • If it all breaks down and you go back to analogs, keep trying.

Anyway, hope this helps anyone starting out.

Excellent advice!! All of it! Glad you didn't just get discouraged & say screw it! It does take a little time to figure out your set up & if you want tanks, cartos, clearos etc... If you like the cartos you'll prob love the carto tank. I started with the clearos & got annoyed with leaking then moved to novas. Those were better but while I was at my B&M one day I tried cartos. Loved the flavor but got tired of constantly filling it so I got a couple of tanks! The best advice you gave was to be patient! We unfortunately live in an instant gratification type of society. Everyone's experience is different. I didn't put down the stinkies right away either! Oh & just received my Provari yesterday. You're gonna love it!!

Sorry you have had a rough time...hope it gets much better for you now that you have the "Cadillac" of mods on the way. :)

I personally started with a ProVari after much research & it is the best choice I could have made...I love it! You will be very happy with that purchase. With the extended battery cap & 18650 batteries, I get tons of vape time before recharging. Provape is usually super fast with processing & shipping orders so you should have it very soon. I don't mind my Vivi Nova but it isn't so great when you get to the bottom of the tank. I have modified mine a bit & it is much better now...but it is going to be my backup tank when my Triple V Sidewinder gets here.

Or you could do what my mother did and let me figure most of it out and then set her up! I don't mind. I ordered everything for her and got her set up with a Vision Spinner and a few Kanger t3's. When they empty I take and clean and refill them for her. We have a deal I keep us supplied with juice and she buys the cartos and Kanger replacement heads.

Right now Im trying to figure out carto tanks thinking she might like them better.

The one big thing I always bring up in these threads because I honestly wish someone had really stressed it with me when I was new: Hydrate. Drink lots and lots of water. Keep your throat wet when vaping by constantly sipping on water.

This cannot be over emphasized. Must be 'pure' water. One may still drink a little pop, coffee etc but mainly water.
