I had GURD for many years, but it was no surprise. I had full blown stomach ulcers and IBS at the age of 14. That was before cigarettes and alcohol took their toll on my guts. I can eat whatever I want now, but I generally avoid sodas, alcohol (including beer), and obviously cigarettes. Too many days of spicy food in a row and I might have to get back on Prilosec for a week or two, but in general I'm in better shape now than I ever was. Everyone is different MrPicC, don't assume you'll do any better or worse in 10-20 years. I totally understand your pain Uncle, I've been there.
Get that doggy to the vet Lisa, and good luck to you both. I don't want to go into the details of my last dog's end at 16 years old, he had a very full and happy life. He did have similar symptoms to yours near the end, but the vets assured me there was nothing I could have done to help him. My newest rescue dog also skips a day now and then, and he's only 3 and very active and healthy. Even if I was a vet I couldn't make any guesses on what is ailing Emmy, so I will hope for the best for her and you as well.
Hey Ray, how are you doing? Did I miss an update, or what? I hope that some progress has been made in your treatment and that taking it easy has had some positive effects. I'm a little self-serving when I say that, because I want a VVV tank and a new cartopunch tool!
I hope you make it through the twister season Steve, I can't even imagine how scary it must be to live on OK right now. I'm trying to avoid the media coverage, the reporters and anchors are too stupid to watch for more than 15 minutes and that's only if I catch it at the right time. Hurricane season hasn't even really started yet, tornadoes are killing and destroying so many lives, 17 year locust plague is about to happen... is it time to crawl into a hole and hide for a while? I don't have that option any more than most people. Stay safe if you can Steve.
jpf, I hope your wife gets better soon. I obviously can't do anything for her, but I'll have something for you going out early next week. It should help you save some money to use on more important things like doctor bills and the like. Take care of her, and I wish her the best of luck and you as well.
Good luck on your show LD! You probably won't need it, as long as the sound stays on and people show up, it sounds like it will be fun!
If I missed somebody it wasn't on purpose. Have a nice weekend if you can folks. Carpe diem - bona fortuna!
