08/21 Entry#5 . . .

"RAY" actually has the Pre-Punched Laser Cut Boges:

#5 for 08/21

But they are holes, not slots. I have the double pre-punched holes in my generic smok carto but they seem to be lower down on the tube. I have read here that the Boge's sold by Ray are the best many people have used. Apparently there are impostor Boge's out there?

I know it isn't pronounced "Bogie" like Humphrey Bogart, but I keep seeing someone like Rich Little (yes, I am that old) doing Bogie.

The laser cut hole cartos have been around a while now, these slot cuts are new. The slots are an entire centimeter long.

@jac: It does look like a membrane, but how can that let 100% PG or 100% VG through at the same rate? My common sense can't grasp this factor. I will wait for reviews...

Solid idea... I think I'll cue off of you here...

I have seen them posted in some of the threads and I found that through a google search. I always thought slots would flood my cartos so I haven't looked for any. One person said they use jewelers files to slot their cartos.

I have a question. What the heck is the "condom method" of filling? I can picture all sorts of things but none of them seem to relate to filling a carto.
The "condom" in this method is the larger of the two rubber caps that come on a cartomizer (at least on most). I do not recommend it, a syringe is much faster and also less messy. The only downside to using a syringe is having a syringe around, but a blunt tip needle can be used. Here's a video...

I don't have those with the slots - I only have what I get from "Ray" . . . :thumb: :D
I am not aware of anybody having one one of these new cartomizers yet, I haven't found any reviews. If they turn out to be a "hit", I bet Ray will carry them eventually. I have serious doubts as to their performance, time will tell. The laser cut holes don't work for me anyways, so I'm already biased.

Edit: thanks glowplug! That makes one review at least, these need more time. If I've learned anything in this journey into vaping it's to be patient and not buy untested stuff unless you're fully prepared to waste money.

Second revision: still not many reviews, but IMO Ray would do well to avoid carrying them. It's hard to beat punching your own cartomizers to find what works best for your e-liquids. One size does not fit all.

I have some needle topped bottles and insulin syringes at home if they will work. So far I just drip from the regular bottle and take it slow and easy.

I am going to watch the video. I have 4 gb left on this month's mobile broadband allowance, might as well spend it! Phil's reviews take forever to buffer for me. Don't know why.

Of course, since I said that about buffering, that video just screamed for me. I guess I am at a 4g, full bars here. Nice to know. I might watch a movie before bed! I hate that my Verizon account has gone to an 8gb shared plan instead of the unlimited that I had on this one before. I very seldom use the 8gb but I hate to be limited when I want to use it for tv or movies on the road. I took the TV out of the truck. Useless for the most part without paying for satellite and I just don't watch enough TV to justify that expense. My computer works great when I run the sound through the truck's sound system speakers!

I now know about the condom method. It looked to be fast for a first fill especially if the boges are more tightly packed than the smok cartos. I have only dripped to fill mine and have only primed three so far. One person said they can just put a dry boge with the vertical slots in a tank overnight and it is primed by morning and the tank is half full. If there really is no flooding when vaped, that would be sweet, no?

5. 8/21 - I almost forgot my 5th entry...

When I first started filling my own cartomizers I dripped in the top and took my time. I was never in a hurry, but it took a very long time to completely fill a carto. Then I found this condom method, but it always wasted a little e-liquid and there is always excess liquid to blow out. I went back to dripping in the top and slinging the carto to force the liquid down. This worked better but seemed like too much work. After getting a syringe with a large gauge needle, I can now fill a carto perfectly in less than a minute every time without any overfill or mess. There's at least 3 ways to fill a cartomizer, use whatever works for you. There is no "wrong" way. :2c:

1. 8/22 - I pulled the trigger on a Kick II today. I was hesitant since it costs as much or more than many VW mods, but since it handles lower ohms than I will ever use that makes it completely different. This gives my Silver Bullet a stay of execution until it arrives next week. It could be that the SB doesn't care for the Kick clone that I have, I get misfires half the time. I don't want to give it up, a VVV pyrex tank looks perfect on it.
