3) Here's a preview of the Innokin iTaste MVP 2.0. It has everything that made the original so popular combined with several improvements in design and functionality. There's less competition with box mods than with tube mods. Between the MVP 2.0 and the VTR, Innokin should have a nice chunk of the box-mod market. Here's the full text preview if you want more details.

It is true. I am quite frustrated with my AGA-Ts. Yes two. Then first one I had decided to lie to me for a week and made me order a second one. As soon as it shipped, the first one went right back to its evil ways.

I've tried 4 different gauge wires, kanthal and nichrome. 3 different thicknesses of Silica and two different grades of stainless mesh. The result has always been the same.

I've had the best luck using 5 wraps of 29 gauge kanthal wrapped around 2.5mm silica in a U wick configuration. But even that would have wicking issues after a several hits. And at that point, its nothing more than a 25 dollar Vivi Nova.

Even today... Put a fresh battery in the Natural, and all day the AGA-T has been under performing. Like ZERO vapor under performing.

Even when they work well, they only performed as well as a low res cartotank.

My IGO-Ls are performing beautifully, and are making the use of the AGA-Ts a very slim probability.

I am so shocked to read this.
Out of all of my tanks my AGA-T is my favorite (closely followed by my vivi) (you do have an AGA-T+, right?).
Clouds of vapor.
My boyfriend does hate rebuilding it, though. We use mesh and kanthal or nichrome. (kanthal is preferable)

3. I've been cleaning the kitchen for 4 1/2 hours, doing the nasty stuff like oven, hood vent, and oiling the butcher-block counters. All I meant to do was clean the toaster, I got a bit carried away. Now that all of this stuff is clean I don't want to use it.

I found some fun pics to post for your entertainment...

I actually have an AGA-T+ (polycarb tank) and an AGA-T2 (pyrex tank). Weird thing is, despite the differences in the tanks, they are identical. But the 2 does perform better. May just be in my head... But still.

I will say there are fleering moments when they are exceptional. But just as soon as I settle in and get a rhythm going... It bites me. I just can't trust them. Nit like a VVV or an RBA.

4. 8/29 - I've had very good luck using the AGA-T(+,2,?) after using Ekowool for sleeving over the SS mesh. Less burnt/carbonized junk on the mesh helps it wick much better, as well as eliminating hot spots. Learning exactly how much mesh would fit in the wick hole without pinching it took some practice. It takes longer for me to set up than a rebuildable dripper but lasts much longer. There's nothing easier to deal with than a cartotank though. I've made a hobby of tinkering with this rebuildable stuff, it's not for everybody.

I made a quart of peach, banana, and vanilla yogurt smoothie for dinner. All the pineapple is gone, that would have been good.

Behold, The Great Wall of Pineapple!

#3 for 08/29

Dinner tonight will be Mario Batali's Pasta alla Norma with few minor variations. Do not have fresh basil and I don't use dried, so will throw a few basil/garlic/spinach penne in the mix. Don't have a fresh made tomato sauce per se, but I have lots of fresh tomatoes so they are reducing as we speak. Just have to see if it is edible. Here's hoping. I love The Chew's recipes.

I've been looking into ekowool. Its about the only thing I haven't tried on the AGAs.

Schnarph, do you sleeve just where the coil makes contact, or the entire mesh wick?

Just the top where it comes out of the wick hole. It also does a good job of soaking up any liquid that sits on the deck. Ekowool tends to fray easily when it's cut. I found it easier to cut it after it was over the SS mesh and the coil was wrapped.

I don't know about you folks, but when I clean an RBA I carefully remove the wick with the coil still on it. Once a coil and wick is done well I like to leave it intact if possible. Everything usually reassembles just fine after cleaning. YMMV

Mine are pretty reliable, they just have to be rebuilt about every week, give or take.
I don't know why you would have problems like that.

ETA: you can't just use ekowool on its own like silica?

Me either. I've been building coils for a long time, almost as long as I've been vaping. Started with Vivis and got gosh darn good at it.

Interesting note, rebuilding a ViVi is like riding a bike... You never forget.

And worked my way up and through the did clones, which I rarely had issues with. AGA is just a big did... So why should I be having trouble? I have no idea.

I know next to nothing about building or rebuilding, but reading your post, it really doesn't seem to make any sense that you would have trouble. Are you having 'one of those days' perhaps? Nice to see you, no matter what.
