The region's Tea Party "leader" has invited himself in to my studio and is now doing a phone interview with a local congressman.

I was in a hellish boarding school 12 years ago.
i remember running away that day, i got caught, standing in front of a gas station trying to get people to buy me cigarettes. I was brought back and put in a ~30 day time out doing insane manual labor and isolated in a teepee and not allowed to talk to another living soul.

Just as an FYI: As "Ray" has mentioned many times (and if I am wrong I am sure he will correct "Me") - the cutoff for the day of 12 Midnight is based on your time zone . . . However, for those of us on the east coast, he has been kind enough to also state that as long as the post is made by 12 Midnight Central Time it will count for the drawing . . . Just Sayin' . . .

And Jac, nobody called me a ....h but me, myself and I. I wear the badge with pride. The way I see it, when a man is outspoken, opinionated and knows what he wants it is applauded and he is seen as charismatic and a go-getter. When a woman has those qualities, she's labelled demanding and ....hy. So be it. I will be that ....h.

So True - SO TRUE . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Oh - BTW: Although, I am a Man, in certain groups I have also been "labeled" a "....h" also on many occasions . . . AND - Always wear "My" badge with "PRIDE" too . . .

(Guess it also comes from working with mostly Women and being a Gay Man . . . )

12 years ago I was sleeping in... I had tended bar the night before and typically slept til ~1pm
My mother called & woke me up some time after the first plane hit, telling me to turn on the news. I stood, transfixed in my LR for about 2 hrs before i ever made coffee, sat down or even put any clothes on... I was in such a state of shock.


As to politics, SJ is right. We have to be able to conduct intelligent discourse on the subject in order to avoid the ignorance that politicians wish us to act under.
If a purely emotional response is evoked by an argument, you should damned well doubt the validity of both the information and intent... We are no longer a society that believes in reason and rule of law. Our founding fathers were smarter, wiser, better educated (classical greek) and more accomplished that the typical politician in office, or campaining for office today.

taking a half day today. not missing any hours, but the way our schedule is set up we have to work 2 Saturdays a month, and since we are not allowed overtime we have to apply the 4 hour saturday shift to a half day during the following week. so today is that day, and i am headed to the casino to play very low stakes poker.
