2. 9/10- I missed the meet for coffee, my bad. Real world stuff... nothing bad.
Christmas: don't believe in it, but I acquiesce to those that do. Each year it seems more and more like a marketing gimmick. Any day is a good day to give, that's how I role. Sure, I'll shop ahead of time, but I'll also give presents ahead of time. Children are a different matter, they have certain expectations. Some family members are only seen close to the holiday itself, and those gifts have to wait until that time. I don't mean to come off as bitter, I love all the lights...
Ekowool: If it's your first time to try it, just get a couple of feet of 2 and 3mm off Fleabay. It should be around $2 per foot with shipping. If you want a whole lot (10+ meters), I can PM you a good place for it. Personally, I tie off the ends with wire (to prevent fraying) and boil for 10-15 minutes (I do this with all types of wick), and torch the poo out of it before cutting or using. Boiling is probably not necessary, but it seems to reduce the "breaking in" period and a couple of vendors recommend boiling. It wasn't made for our purposes, who knows what residues are on it. For use as a SS mesh wick cover, I stick a cleaned drill bit just larger than the SS wick in the hollow center of the Ekowool before torching so it will hold that shape. It also frays much less if torched before cutting, as RPAD mentioned. It's great for some things, but even cotton can be better depending on where it is used. YMMV...
