4. 9/16- I went to Oatmeal, Texas yesterday to look at a new-ish power chair/scooter for my disabled mother since her old one just broke, no parts available for a discontinued model other than tires and batteries. The one I looked at is half the price of a new one and was only used once. Too good to be true? Not this time, I just got lucky. It even has full on suspension, crazy cool!
Being pessimistic can make lucky moments extra special. I would feel bad for folks that expect everything to come their way, but their lack of gratitude when given gifts keeps me from caring about them in the slightest. I'm a "glass isn't completely empty yet" kinda person. BTW, I hope that the winner of the 10 millionth post prize shares the wealth at least a little bit. I know I would. Do unto others... etc.
@LD- Sometimes things are sold really cheap because the seller needs the money fast, just doesn't care, or doesn't know what they're doing. When listings like that come up, some realtor or rental agency will try to snag it by renting it themselves and sub-leasing at a massive profit. That's what they do for a living, quite often they're the worst kind of middlemen in the world... next to bankers of course.
