#5 I like cotton, for the most part. But I'm not 100% sold on it. I also like silica, and will continue to use it. I do, however, really like cotton when I am rebuilding tank wicks, like vivi novas. Last time I rebuilt a nova, I used a strand of cotton and a strand of silica, just to see what would happen. It wicks really well and the taste is outstanding.

Over the past couple days I have been recoiling/wicking a bunch of protank atties. I've been using 3mm silica and 6 wrspd of 32g kanthal fairly tight coils getting around 2.1 ohms. It may be my imagination, but they seem to taste and fire better than stock coils. I'm still a bit afraid to try cotton

Cotton certainly does have a learning curve.

For example... Last night I was blaming my coil for my wicking and burning troubles... but after a night's rest, I realized my wicks were too thick. Dry, they fit in the hole real nice and smooth... Wet, they swelled up so much the juice was being choked off at the wick hole. So after two or three hits, the cotton had gone dry.

Rolled up a much smaller wick this morning... Dry, it was loose in the hole... Wet, it's a perfect fit!

Wonder what old knowledge all this new knowledge is pushing out of my head?

When is my wedding anniversary?

Uh oh....

HONEY...?!?!?!

Gooood Morning Happy VVVapers!!!

Thank you Boardo for your help in building my own lovely (and first) micro-coil for the Aga-t.
Still looking for the best wattage for the 1.3 ohm w/ cotton.

I had picked up a nice, cheap, precision-plier set, at Harbor Freight, just for my RBA kit. Heck for $12 I got the pliers, tool-box and "Helping Hands" set...

13 wraps of 26 gauge Kanthal @ 1.35 ohms takes 3-4 seconds just to warm up. :(
Not that anyone asked but it might keep you from trying such foolishness.

Thank you Schnarph, I am naturally inclined to foolishness of all kinds.

I think I'll avoid 26g for all intents and purposes. I don't feel the need...
