So I just started vaping a couple days ago and I picked up 3 new flavors today and all of them seem to have a weird, nasty aftertaste. So much I can't use them. I'm wondering if it's just the shop I got them from or something else. I did up the nicotine from 12 to 24 in these. Does high nicotine levels leave a weird aftertaste or is it something else? I've tried all different voltages and wattages, washed out and changed atomizers every time I changed flavors. The only other difference with these 3 flavors is I changed to a 2.2 atty instead of the 2.5 I started with. Thanks!

I've noticed higher nicotine does leave a peppery/bitter taste compared to same juice with lower nic. Other question is about your juice - was it "freshly" made? There are some flavors that need a little "settling time" (a.k.a. "steeping") to allow the components to tone down a bit. I have a few bottles I'd purchased at the beginning of April, and it wasn't until about a week ago that I could start to enjoy them. The previous nasty aftertaste has gone away (or lessened substantially.) I'm using mostly 2.2 and 2.5 coils as well.

They are just my local shop brand. I'm not sure what vg/pg ratio they are or how fresh they make them. The last flavor I tried is actually decent and doesn't have that weird aftertaste.

I'm using kanger atty's and a protank 2 with an airflow control valve. The after taste is kind of peppery I think. I'm not sure, it's really a weird taste and hard to describe. I think I'm going to order some new flavors from Mt Baker tomorrow or somewhere else if anyone has a good suggestion for some quality juice.

Vaping takes some getting used to, there's some blends that does have a lingering after taste. Some does even after hitting another e-juice. It depends on the mixture (PG/VG ratio), the flavor itself, whom blended it, many factors.

Sweet blends tends to have more aftertaste to me than the coffee/vanilla blends, which are my favorites.

But any of the e-juices tastes much better than analogs to me. I'd go with no flavoring before returning back there.

One last thing, it's going to take some time for you to find what suits you the best. What works for me is to have at least 2, preferably 3 blends of e-juice, so that I don't get tired of, or "burned out" on one flavor.

Hang in there, there's a whole community here pulling for you!

Let them know which ones you liked, since they make them they will be able to steer you to other "like" flavors in their line and away from ones you do not care for.

they are really the only people who can truly answer your questions the best since they created and mixed what you bought, ask the chef, in other words.

I have the opposite reaction. Coffee and Vanilla vapes seem to linger for me...Agreed with everything else! :D

Yes, everyone is different when it comes to this.

However, I don't find the aftertaste bad, if I were to, I'd not use that e-juice anymore. There were a few that I ditched, fortunately those were samples. When any flavors make my mouth water 5 minutes after using, that's too much aftertaste.

Maybe keep at smaller sizes until you start dialing in on what you like. EVERYONE is different ;) I lean toward 60pg/40vg or 50/50. I did order from Mt Baker - a couple of those are the ones to which I was referring about needing to sit for awhile before really enjoying. I have a local B&M (CravinVapes) whose juices I LOVE; they are a "little" more expensive than MBV, but you can get a 6mL bottle (and they'll send a free sample of the "flavor of the month" with certain order level.) I've not ordered anything from them higher than 10mg nic, but I've never noticed any nasty aftertastes with anything I've purchased (except for this GNARLY Bacon French Toast flavor that tasted good at the sample bar.... 8-o)

btw, if you want to order from Mt Baker try a coupon code VAPORFROMBAKER - they'd thrown a bunch of business cards with that 10% discount code on them

Peppery is generally nicotine - might be just an unskillful blend that doesn't knit that in right; it's some sort of imbalance. I'd check out favorite juice vendors in the forum. I highly recommend Ahlusion.

Yea I'm guessing it's the nicotine, the samples all tasted good but the higher nic ones i took home just weren't that good. I ordered 3 flavors and requested a sample from Ahlusion, I'm hoping those are going to be great. I also ordered a vanilla custard from Bryce's since I've heard good things about his. Bryce's should be here Saturday and the Ahlusion order hasn't even shipped yet but I think I saw it takes like 3 days for processing and today is day 3 so hoping those ship today or tomorrow. I ordered all of those in 18 mg nic hoping the slightly lower nic will help with the peppery taste.

Hey d, is it an almost peppery tingle as much as an after taste? If so then more than likely nicotine. Does the supplier make the juices fresh or premade, it could need to steep for a while. Most juices I have tried benefit from steeping. Always shake your juices before you use them. I always squeeze all the air out of the bottle a couple of times before I use it too. To steep it remove both top and dripper set in dark cupboard or drawer burp the air out of the bottle and shake it daily for about a week. Or you can rice steep it. If you want inst. for that PM me.

I would suggest Ahlusion's juices. Quality, and something for everyone's taste.

It's kind of a peppery taste on the tongue and in the throat. I have no idea how the shop does their liquid. It was the first time I'd been there and thought I'd just give them a try since I wanted a higher nicotine juice. The bottle has their name on it as opposed to the other shop I went to had an internet company name on it so I'm guessing they mix their own. I probably should have asked more about them when I was there lol luckily it shouldn't be too long before my stuff I ordered gets here

I have the same problem. It's like a bitter sort of burning/tingling aftertaste that just lingers on the back of my tongue. I've tried different juices, different flavors, different nicotine strength and different equipment. Some are worse then others. Finally found someone local that mixed my juice and it was great at first. But now those juices have done the same. Not sure if he changed some of his ingredients or what. Maybe my taste buds are just weird! LOL

I decided to order a DIY kit and make my own juice. That way I can see if its something about the juice or if its just my taste buds!!! I used so many different clearomizers that I don't think that is the problem. They do have a weird taste when you first start using a new one, but usually that plastic taste goes away. In my case it changes from one weird taste to a different weird taste after the clearo is broken in!

Hopefully I can figure it out when my DIY kit comes next week what the problem is! **Fingers Crossed** Because that bitter taste kind of makes all juices taste the same! :( and its not a great taste!!!

I got my Vanilla Custard in today from Bryce and the taste is gone. This juice is absolutely delicious. He sent me a sample of his banana pudding too and if that one is anything like this vanilla custard it's going to be heaven. I really think the place I got the other batch from just didn't make a good juice. I've finally found something I can enjoy. It's a good feeling :)
