Weird E-Liquid Aftertaste

Hi Guys,

I've been vaping primarily the same e-juice for months now. I've tried lots of different e-juices from different companies and 99.9% of them have some weird alcohol/liqueur type after taste that I cannot stand, it doesn't matter which company I buy from.

I experimented with making my own flavors using different percentages of PG and VG and I think I discovered that the element that causes the aftertaste I hate comes from the flavor extracts. Whatever base is used to suspend the flavoring seems to be the culprit. But, I am not completely positive about that, either, lol.

Has anyone else noticed this aftertaste I am talking about? It makes it so I can't vape a particular juice for more than an hour without getting sick of it.

Only one company I've tried has been free of this taste for me....ElectroNicStix flavors don't have the aftertaste, and I love that company! But, in the interest of expanding my horizons, so to speak, I'd like to find another company to get juice from as well. I don't want to list companies I've tried already because I don't want to talk bad about anyone, and from all of the reading I"ve done on this topic I seem to be in a verrrrry small minority of tasting this yucky taste.

So, all that being said, here's my question:

For any of you who have also experienced this weird aftertaste do you know of any companies that sell liquid that doesn't have the bad taste? Remember, I've researched it enough to know it is not the percentage of PG vs VG, new atomizers vs. old, new cartos vs. old, etc....it seems to be in the flavor extract part....

I really only like tobacco flavors, but not the ones that taste like mens cologne, uck!

Is this making sense to anyone? If I was a rich girl, I'd buy pre-filled cartos of Red Label from Green Smoke, that is the absolute best flavor I have had in an ecig, but that would be way too expensive for daily vaping...

Some vendors use a very distinct base and you can taste it in all their juice. If you like it, that's great. If you don't, you probably won't like any of their juices. I'm not a juice expert but I've noticed it in BWB and Halo juices. Never tried it but some people say Johnson's creek juices have a distinct taste as well. I guess that's probably why some of these companies have a huge fan base.

I've noticed a perfumey taste in some sweeter, multi flavor juices that I'm not all that crazy about. I get that with some creamy, darker juices. Sometimes that goes away when they steep.

I've heard (but never tried) EcoPure that Cignot sells his a very clean tasting juice. It's a little on the expensive side and only comes in VG.

I mostly vape menthol/mint and fruit (peach) so there probably aren't a lot of ingredients in the juices.

Who's have you tried? I'd recommend a couple I've heard good things about but they might be the ones you hate.

I ordered tobacco juice from Vapor Station because I read on the board that they use a different base than other vendors (they say on their site what it is, I forget). They list all of the ingredients on their bottle. She's not into vaping, nothing against the juice. She seemed to like it. I ordered her Tampa.

Alot of vendors I've tried have a perfumey taste. Right now I vaping Rockstar Vapor juices and they seem to have a clean vape, and I have some Kick Bass Vapor juice coming, I've heard some great things about them.

I have noticed it from juice I try right out of the mailbox. It seems to mellow out after sitting for a few days. I think it's the alcohol in some flavors that take a little bit of time to evaporate.

Like Swedishfish, I have noticed that vendors juices have unique tastes. I have tried many with the perfumy aftertaste, and I have either tossed or PIFfed them. Halo is the cleanest taste(for my tastebuds) that I have tried. BWB and intellicig also have a few that have a clean, no-aftertaste. I have found more satisfaction with the higher priced juices, but each taste varies!

From the vendors I've tried, I would highly recommend Virgin Vapors, her juices are the absolute cleanest tasting juices I've ever tried, but I don't think she carries tobaccos.

For tobaccos, I would recommend Prime Vaping, their tobaccos are very clean to me.
Also, I don't get any aftertaste with NiteLiteVapors either, and they primarily carry tobaccos.

I haven't tried a gazillion vendors, I'm sure others will stop by with other recommendations,
but I get none of what you're describing with any of those three companies.

I don't know what kind of base Virgin Vapors uses, but it is a completely different experience than any other vendor I've ever tried, it is Ultra-Clean, almost like there simply isn't a base there at all.

What flavor juice have you noticed this with?

I have a vanilla bean ice cream and it's very perfumey.

Vapor Bomb is very perfumey to me even after weeks of steeping.

I am no expert either and what I have found to be the BEST juice is Vapors etc.. I love menthol and they have a very clean one...I get samples and most of them are very clean to me.Try it you'll like it!!!!

I don't noticed that at all. I vape their peach almost every day. I think a lot of it comes down to flavors. Like I said I've noticed with the the juices with cream in the mix. The only place I've found that I actually like the juice with cream in the mix is Vapor Station. I really like their Vanilla Creme Soda. I can't vape that or any really heavily flavored juice for very long.

I do vape VB peach all day or their strawberry. I add a little artic ice to the juice. Never tried their tobacco but I've heard it's not as good as some of their fruit flavors.

You may like vapor bomb juices. they get great reviews. it's just that my taste buds pickup on something in their juices that others may not taste. so don't dismiss them, give 'em a try.

Most of the chocolate flavors have this characteristic... I finally found a couple from TPA that don't have that alcohol flavor...

@SwedishFish... I haven't noticed the perfumy taste in Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, but TPAs Vanilla Swirl definitely has a perfumy note that I find to be very pleasant... I love it... and no diacytel!

i have noticed the same with a few vendors and like you i cant stand it. Nitelite Vapor has some really good clean tobaccos. thier Gold Rush is one of the best. i also really like Bounty Hunter.

I hate perfumey juices with a passion. Alt smoke, High caliber, and gourmet vapor have never sent me any perfumey juices, AVE has good juice also..

One of the worst to me is chocolate-anything. They all have this wicked aftertake like... something that isn't chocolate at all to me. However, vanilla/cream is just... horrible. I tried VaporBomb's birthday cake. I love VB and use their fruits/Arctic Ice all day, everyday. I can't describe how foul this juice tasted. It was like... vaping vanilla extract with a peppery aftertaste.

I knew I wasn't alone Anything that has a cream or vanilla-like flavor tastes horrible to me! I mean, to the point that I'll somewhat gag... it's like a vanilla extract-like taste. Not at all pleasant. The only flavor I've vaped and enjoy that has cream in it is Kona Cream from sweet-vapes. The funny thing is that it has cream and coffee- I don't like coffee vapes, either.

Mmm I'm vaping Strawberry and Arctic Ice right now!
