So, I picked one of these up at my local brick & mortar store over the weekend. I've been pretty pleased with it. It's my first mod, but it was simple, mechanical, and seemed basically like nothing could possibly go wrong with it. Not so much, as now it does not work.
I've taken the mod as completely apart as I am able and have tested each and every component on a multimeter. Every piece shows 0 resistance, so all of the internals are working fine. The battery tests at around 4.2v, as it should, and when all assembled, I get a steady 4.2v on the multimeter from testing the center pole and outside of the body.
So here's where things get weird. I've been using it with a SR 510 and a 2.4 mini Nova interchangeably. My 510, which was on it at the time, stopped working. I switched to the MN, and it would not work. I subsequently tried every atty, tank, and carto in my house. None worked. That was when I started putting the mod and it's constituent parts on the multimeter, only to find that from a testing perspective, it works just fine. Only when attempting to actually use the device for its intended purpose does it fail.
I'm very confused as to what the problem might be. Our eCig shop is only open on the weekends so it'd be great if I didn't have to wait 5 days to get this sorted out thanks to the insight some amazing individual here. Any ideas?
