What's the best way to clean the end of the atty that connects to the battery?

This only occurred to me after taking one apart when the battery finally died (3 days and no mod! ) and I noticed there was liquid on the end of the battery (where it screws into the atty). So I looked into the atty and there was liquid in there, but I couldn't get the right about of force with a balled up paper towel to REALLY clean it. It was gross when I wiped down the battery.

What's the best way to do this?

As a side note, I don't just mean soaking them, I mean a really good deep cleaning Is it possible to scrub out the inside?

the way you did it. use paper towel or tissue and just blot up. no need to clean it with anything as long as you get all the juice out and dry it.

I just blow through the mouth side while holding a paper towel over the threaded end and then wipe the threads with the paper towel. Then I use a q-tip with a little bit of rubbing alcohol (not too much that it goes inside). That usually does it for me. There are tons of posts about soaking and blowing out attys - I'm still not sure which one is best. But, in three months of vaping (heavily) I'm still using the same attys. (knock on wood...~lol~)

I would wipe the atty threads as you do "first", then blow through the threaded end over a paper towel (or something). Then turn it around and blow through the other end while keeping a finger over the end hole (this will force any residual juice AND gunk) out of the atty's air holes. Final wipe, a drop of juice on the atty bridge to re-prime before use and your good to go.

On my 510 atty's I only do this occasionally as most times I simply leave my cart connected and place them mouthpiece down in a cup to gravity drain overnight.

I'm still using my original atty's purchased a year ago !!

It does build up a varnish that causes a voltage drop, eventually not charging well or not properly making contact with the atty. I've always used electical contact cleaner in the battery connectors. Cleans quickly and doesn't leave a residue. Any brand should work as long as it's recommended for printed circuit boards .

There are no weird questions, just weird answers.

I use a kleenex to wipe off the external surfaces. If you get any dried build-up just rough it up gently with a paperclip or knife blade.

I tried an old sonic jewelry cleaner to clean the cartridge end - most of the home-use models for rings are very gentle - and as a bonus, it polished the threads to like-new, too.

I use a synthetic shammy - like a Sham-WOW (no endorsement intended) - dipped in Everclear or 91% isopropyl alcohol to polish the threads on the batteries. Don't know if the alcohol or the texture of the pad does the work, but the cloth gets grimy and the threads clean up nicely.

Crest pro health has done wonders for me (2 hr soak). Blow them out and let them dry for 2 hrs and be sure to re-prime when gettin ready to use. Hope this helps!

Ok, this will be the third time I've asked this question, PLEASE someone give me a direct answer I've gotten everything from basic ingredients to active ingredients.

Is there a difference in using Listerine or Crest?

Agreed. I am looking for the answer as well. I don't have any Crest, but I do have several bottles of Listerine.

Ive used crest, denture cleaner and listerine and all turned out abt the same if that helps.....but I only need to clean mine if they get realllllly clogged. Ive found that sometimes very little maintenance on attys goes a long way.

I used Crest and it didn't do anything with just soaking. I switched to plain boiling water. I think the reason it worked for him was the agitation. If you use tongs and push the water back and forth through the atty (remove from boiling as soon as it comes to boil), you get the same effect. You can leave it to soak for another 30 minutes or let the water cool off while it soaking if you want, but I think the agitation is key.

BTW, the Crest leave a taste to the atty that you have to soak. I tried 24 hours changing the water twice and it still tasted like mouthwash afterwards.

Also, someone said to reprime the atty with a drop of ejuice....try 5-6. It holds way more than one drop (assuming a small dropper like the 6ml bottle size). One drop won't keep the atty wet and for 510s, a dry atty is death.

I'd go with boiling it. The hot water will dissolve any residue (and sterilize it too). Alcohols will dissolve the fluid too, but I doubt they work as fast as boiling.
