Weird taste from Vivi Nova

Brand new Vivi Nova seems to taste like an old carto that's about to burn out. It's 2.3 ohm, tried it on 3.2 to 4 volt.

I wonder -- is it my juice (bottom of the bottle), or bad head, or do I need to have more than 5 minutes of patience to let it wick better?

Edit: Never mind -- found the problem My Twist decided to stop changing voltage, and output a nice constant 4.8v. Now I know what 11 watt tastes like

Also, vivi novas perform terribly straight out of the box until you clean them or break them in.

As an experiment, I've replaced the wick in one of my spare heads, and now I intend to do that every time. Should replace cleaning

Both, of course. I can't imagine how to replace just the wick and leave the old coil in place, though I wish it was easier. My first few coils looked like crime against vaping

A new coil every time you'd normally clean it?

Yeah…I'm not using whatever materials you're using……that's way too much effort compared to <2 minutes of rinsing and dry burning.

oh no, I clean my remade coils. I just rebuild them instead of replacing. I prefer cotton wicks to the factory silica. They taste better to me, wick much faster, and are supposedly healthier. When I say "wick much faster", I mean that you can chain-vape it without dry hits, all the way to the bottom of the tank, without tilting. Not that it vapes bad with the silica, I just like this better.

What are your views on the smoktech hyper srt rebuildable? Was thinking of getting one while I wait for a zatty pro, I put in to be on the waiting list so not sure how long it takes for him to make me one.

I'm a newbie, so my views on it are relatively inconsequential. But I do want one, wanna mess with it with cotton and SS wick, just don't know if it leaks. Leaking is kind of a deal breaker for me, since Nova doesn't leak even when bouncing around in my pockets
