Weird Taste when vaping DIY

So my question revolves around the flavor you get from DIY in a tank VS a dripper. I was testing the juice on one of my RDA's, and the flavor tasted pretty good(raspberry lemonade). So I figured I would fill the tank up, and vape on it for a while. However, when I vaped it on my Kanger sub-tank nano, I got a lot of vapor, but a very almost "dry hit" bland taste with a hint of the flavor. The OCC was saturated, tank was full, and I was vaping at 20W on a .6ohm coil on my Sigelei. I also did a few warm up hits to get the juices flowing right, nothing changed.

I even tried pushing the wattage limit of the coil, and nothing changed except the "dry hit" was hotter. I noticed this on one of the store bought juices with a 90vg/10pg content.

Why the difference in tastes between the devices? Did I not add enough flavor to the juice? Is the VG content too high to vape properly in the kanger(80/20)?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I've found that 75vg/25pg is perfect for my Subtank Mini but I use the RBA section. I do not like their stock coils as I find that they do not wick well. I don't even vape high wattages and it still would get dry hits sometimes. Also, with an RDA/dripper the flavor is usually at least a little stronger than in a tank merely because of the way it's configured. (with a dripper there is less material/ etc between the coil and where you vape from if that makes any sense)

Thanks for all of that.. I was really worried about throwing out a lot of test juices that might have actually been good, just using the wrong application. Since I primarily drip, VG/PG content doesn't matter too much for me, but I have found if I really like a particular mix, I'll make another, only in a higher PG content to make it more vapable in a tank.

I found that if I get a flavor mix that I like, and like where it's at, I'll mark the time for steeping on the recipe in my binder, and then put it in the fridge to stop steeping.

Making your nic base.. Doesn't it change a little bit depending on how many flavors you add? Since most flavors are in PG, you'll have to add a bit more VG to keep a ratio you like right?
