Weird Things Are Happening To Me

Ok I have started noticing that I smell strange things now. And sometimes I'm like what stinks. My family thinks I've gone insane. But I swear that I can smell things they can't. Like I made my son give the dog 2 baths yesterday because he smelled so rotten. Other thing I've noticed is that some of the foods I loved when I smoked now taste like the worst things on earth and foods I hated taste pretty good.

I guess what I'm asking is...........has anyone gone as nutty as my family thinks I am?

the bad smells came back for me first...then the nicer smells.

It's happened to me, I am very self concious about myself now. I use less cologne and such.

I also like to do a lot of BBQ'ing, I never had an issue with smoke from cooking when I smoked cigs. I stopped the burnies on Novemeber 24 and I Q'ed a turkey for Xmas dinner. Just that little bit of exposure to cooking smoke I'm thiinking gave me a nice respitory infection! That would never happen when I smoked cigs and I was breathing hickory smoke for 14 plus hours.

Oh yea LOL when your sniffer recovers you will find all kinds of new smells in and around your home. My DH thought I was nuts, I'd walk around the house like a blood hound. "What's that smell? What stinks, did you fart?" And the day I was in the shower with the window closed and fan on I could smell cigs.....Baugh.....The damn neighbors 3 doors down were smoking....Gross!

As far as BBQ and fires.....Camp fires tare me up now....I can't be close at all without getting weezy.

The eyeopener is when you walk out the door and begin to smell those earthy smells that you haven't noticed since you were a kid. Pine trees, dirt, leaves, flowers, and all those little nuances of neighborhood life that have evaded your senses for decades.

I remember the first time i could smell fresh mown grass again. made up for all of the stinky smells

Noticed this too, I can smell the rain and ozone again. I can't wait until storm season in the spring to be able to detect that slight odor when there is a close lightening strike.

I've been experiencing the same thing! Went to the vets office yesterday, which before I always though smelled a little like heavy duty cleaner and ammonia but not terrible. Yesterday, it smelled like an angry cat had just peed in my face. I had to leave it was so bad. Can't wait for good smells to come back!

I also had to spend 6 hours shampooing my living room carpet the other day because it smelled musty. Now my bedroom is bothering me. I previously smoked in my house, so in my bedroom everything is pretty well coated in dried up nicotine and cig smoke. STINK! I know how I'll be spending new years! LOL!

I smoked for 36 years. I had forgotten tastes from long, long ago.
Did you know that fresh strawberry has a "green" note in that first bite? It's AWESOME!

Ok I have never liked Coke but it's the only thing in the house right now with flavor so I got me some. Coke and Strawberry Daquiri juice tastes absolutely HORRID together. I'm going to make coffee. ugh I'm grossed out.

was completely overwhelmed by the fragrance of a flower garden not long after my sense of smell came back.... my sense of smell is still not the best... but what a difference!
