meems....

I did order a FP cherry... I just also ordered an apple one also since I like both flavors... Pomegranite may also be interesting, but I'd order it first in a 10ml first just to see... lol

On your Provari... you want to look and see what wattage you like them most... So plug in a carto you know the resistance of... the increase the voltage to where you like it the best. When you have those two numbers figured out you can calculate the wattage ( power ) you like. Now when you want to know what voltage works to give you the vape you like on a certain resistance carto... you calc with the wattage and the resistance of the carto you selected and it should tell you what volts to set you Provari at... here is a link to an Ohm's law calc... Online Conversion - Ohm's Law Calculator ... Just remember that the lower the amps, the longer your battery will last. Also, the higher the wattage you set, the faster you vaporize your juice... up to a point, you certainly don't want to burn the juice either.

hiya meeems,

I've had good luck with the 1.7 ohm rescusitators, err, regulators, uh, the RESURRECTOR, yeah that's what it's called

I've run about 12-15 ml thru the same carto in the last few days, still working great @ low volts 3.5 -4.0

good price and free shipping at crystal clear vaping ... might be cheaper to order instead of driving/burning gas ;)

I wouldn't have named this vendor if Bryan sold hardware, but since he doesn't, I hope he doesn't mind

oh', so you ordered the french pipe with cherry?, oh my gaaa, you sooo have to tell me what that vapes like!

yeah, i found i love the 1.5's at a 4.3 to 4.7 volt. really perfect.. i almost sold my provari mini, because i was getting soo frustrated with the ohms and volts, but now i got it perfect.
thanks Ein'sok!

as for the battery , i dont care anymore how long it lasts, i much prefer the perfect vape.

meeemsy...

If I may quote Bryan's description ( or a portion of it at least )

Our take on a decadent golden flue-cured and black danish aromatic pipe tobacco flavor give this wonderful liquid its distinctive Cavendish flavor. A rich sweet flavor with notes of vanilla and cherry are faint on the back-end and not overwhelming with a wonderful throat hit at any concentration.

So you should already know what it is like with just a touch of cherry in it....

Ok.... a 1.5Ω carto running between 4.2v-4.7v is putting out 11.76--14.727 watts

So... a 1.7Ω carto would need to be at 4.47v - 5.0v for the same output
....... a 2.0Ω carto would need to be at 4.85v - 5.43v
....... a 2.2Ω carto would need to be at 5.09v - 5.69v
....... a 3Ω carto would need to be at 5.94v ... but since it tops out at 6v... the most wattage would be 12w, not quite as warm as you may like it.

With those numbers in hand, you should be able to duplicate what your favorite vape power you need no matter which carto you end up getting...

Hey Randy, I know the 1.7 is probably a single coil cartomizer for the dual coil tanks but would those numbers hold for a dual coil. I use the same tanks as meems with the 1.7 single coil but then a also use 1.5 and 2.0 dual coils in the tanks. That is where I get off and have to hunt and peck a little to find the right heat and flavor combination. I have read and read different ways to figure the dual coils resistance since I understand the 1.5 dual coil to be 2 three ohm atomizers. That is where I get confused as to how to figure the real resistance to figure the volts required to generate the same watts, or heat. Not sure if I know enough to even ask the right question. I have the single coils figured out, I think, but the dual coils kind of throw me a curve ball. Also, hello to a fellow okie.

Ohm law is unchangable... so the numbers I gave above hold true for single, dual or how ever many coils the carto has... Remember that they are still providing the total resistance to you when they list it in the description. A dual carto rated at 1.5Ω is simply a carto with 2 3Ω coils in it but it still only has 1.5Ω of resistance... Let me reword it some... If you know the Ω of a single coil in a carto and each coil has the same resistance ... you divide the value of the single coil by the total number of coils... If a single coil has 3Ω, then a dual coil would be 1.5Ω ( 3Ω/2 ), a triple coil would be just 1Ω ( 3Ω/3 ) and a four coil would be 0.75Ω ( 3Ω/4 )

In short... a 1.5Ω single coil uses the same current and has the same output wattage ( power ) as a 1.5Ω dual coil. The only difference is that each coil is only having to produce 1/2 the power... but it is stil in total the same amount of power.

Randy, I understand you perfectly so far. My questions is that if I put 3.7 volts to a single 1.5 ohm coil it will get pretty warm but if I put that same voltage to a 1.5 dual coil (2- 3 ohm coils), the coils will not get as warm since the total resistance is the same but each coil will be cooler since they are really three ohm coils. At least in my mind it would seem that way but I don't completely understand if my device is actually sending more volts to the dual coils. It just seems to me that the 3 ohm dual coils at 1.5 resistance would not get as hot as a single 1.5 ohm coil. If I can get this understand in my thick head then maybe I can get my brain to wrap around the concept and it will make sense. I guess bottom line is to get the same temperature vape do I need to run the two three ohm coils at a higher voltage than the single 1.5 ohm coil? Thanks for you help, Steve

Technically speaking... the two 3 Ω coils ( at 1.5 Ω combined ) will still produce the same total BTU's of heat as a single coil at 1.5 Ω ... With that said...

Things that will alter what heat you feel have to also be considered... The distance from the coils to your mouthpiece is part of it... The amount of and even the type juice that will cool down the coils must also be considered. Look at clearomizers as an example of what distance can do in cooling the vapor... a top coil version seems warmer than a bottom coil model simply because the coils sit at a different distance and the further the vapor travels will add to the amount of cooling it has affect it... More juice will also cool the coil itself down more since it can conduct more heat away quicker... for an analogy, a larger radiator in your car will cool the engine more than a smaller one... but the engine will still produce the same amount of heat.

In the end... it will be what you experience that matters and not what the technical details tell you... yes it may still produce the same amount of heat but once you factor in the other cooling effects... it still feels a bit cooler in certain situations.

That will work for me. I am just an old guy trying to get it to make sense to me. You have been very patient and I appreciate your time. Off to go experiment with voltage, coils, and Highbrow juice. Going to try single coils, double coils, some stardusts and whatever I can find to determine what I like best and go from there. Sounds like fun to me. Thank you again for taking the time to help. Thanks for posting this, Randy. Even understanding Ohm's Law only gets you so far - this makes a ton of sense and captures a lot of things that impact how we perceive the experience we get from vaping all the combinations of hardware and juice.

I think most people don't understand that:
1) Voltage is only part of the story
2) Wattage is more of the story than voltage
3) Wattage isn't all the story, either!

Even some of the best posts I've read on here from knowledgeable people usually seem to miss #3.

As I read more about VV, VA and VW... I'm leaning a lot more towards VW as making the most sense in keeping the vape at a certain level... It was part of why I selected a Legacy since they were made with a Kick in mind.... trouble with the Kick ( and Darwin for that matter ) is that they are currently limited at 10-12w max... Since I THINK that my sweet spot is around 8-9w... I should be ok... but for someone like meeems that seems to like it "hot" between 11w-14w... that would be a problem.

Main thing to remember... use Highbrow Vaper's juice... and it's all good... :D ( as is kissing Bryan's .... well you know )

Haha no problem here. I encourage hardware deals and listings as I find this helpful for myself as well. ;)

Since I've found my favorite vendor ever (of course Highbrow!) my wife finally let me splurge a little bit for my birthday. I've been using Highbrow on a debridged ego T atty, which is great just doesn't look that cool. Well that's all about to change. On its way from Greece is my new Epipe! I already have the pipe stem, new high quality atty made by cisco, and the best 18350 batteries on the way! I'm so excited!! Here's pic of it before I get it next week
