I am wondering , are the kids back in school where u are now?

My daughter started school August 1st, county schools started on the 8th. So yes, all the kids are back in school here

Wow that is early ! August 1st ? I guess I am really out of it . We never went back to school until the end of August and got out the first of June.

I grew up in this town (moved away but came back) and when I went to school we started the first Monday after Labor Day, and got out sometime in mid to late May. Now they're on some kind of "year-round" schedule, so Rhianna will have a three week "Fall Break" from October 3rd through the 21st (she'll actually be off the 1st through the 23rd). Two week Christmas Break and then a three week Spring Break. Then six to eight weeks for Summer, depending on snow/flood days...

Just about the time we get used to the whole school routine, schools out...

That seems like it would really make a mess for those parents that both work I would think. Sounds like a difficult schedule to work with .

They've been doing it for years, so I guess people get used to it--most families here have both parents working anyway. And it must be rather "popular" since the county school system has slowly been adjusting their schedule closer and closer to it...
