Hi Mini and good night Mini, I spent the day playing with the grandson and now I am wore out. there is a reason you have children when your young. Tomorrow during the day I get to take a ride on one of the rescue boats out to an island in the river to check on the status of our firetruck there. Wow, my job is so hard sometimes.

Stoled this from Whiskey, looked like me this morning..LOL
Yesterday I missed out 9-11 memorial service because Ron did not have anyone show up to relieve him at work so he had to stay. After looking at photos, might be a good thing. Two people we have had to kick out of the Volunteer fire service due to criminal charges showed up and acted like they were volunteers, and I would have been the one to make then leave.
I am so ready for the river and a vistit to the islands today. YEA!

The river was beautiful as always and no gator sightings, YEA. The guys know I am afraid of gators so they love to get the boat as close as possible.

I used to live right next to a body of water here that is a nature preserve , we would usually have up to 7 10 ft gators on the banks of it , sometimes very close to my lanai. It was also part of a golf course , I tell u , I hate to say it but people have no sense of self preservation, they would attempt to walk right up to them , even while I was yelling , hey you !! Not a good idea to do that !

One of the guys was trying to convince me to take his paddle boat out today. He almost had me convinced until he made the comment about the 12 foot gator he saw the last time he was out in it.

Ya , me either , not so interested in paddle boats or kayacks on the inland rivers here . There are just to many things in those waters that will eat you LOL.

Having watched them daily in close proximity for about 2 yrs , I know that they are not usually aggressive and will avoid contact with humans if they can . however they are soo fast , and so strong , and there is always the exception to the rule.

We have not had a report of a gator attacking anyone or anything here......I just don't want to be the first.

As for gator attacks , the worst I have heard so far is on Sanibel island . But there have been a couple down this way too. It is rare though, but I do live in the everglades , there are a lot more gators here probably.

IThe most I hear about are small dogs near lakes...oops dog gone. There have been a few around Daytona and Orlando.
Had to wait on the sticker in the mail...they are slow.

Yup . little dogs or cats, just gone . Except for the lady that came home and found one in her kitchen ,it had pushed though the lanai screen to get in , that was a pretty big gator . and the gardner on sanibal that got attacked on the bank of a pond. kids or people swimming at dusk expecially have gotten attacked . There have been a few further down this way .

Then there is the black bear that is found at the front door in the development LOL scared the person silly going out to their car.

Or the panther that we got a pic of in our backyard , when we lived next to the preserve LOL.

This is critter city here though u would never think that to look around for the most part .

We have a lot of black bear sightings around here. A lot more bears than gators. But then i am 20 miles from the river and right in the woods.
