Yeah I have to agree here, I would research more on this before you go rebuilding stuff. And most rebuildables dont come with instructions, I have about 8 or 9 and none of them did so im pretty sure they figure if your buying it you know what your doing. I know you have to start somewhere but be patient and research, trust me, its rewarding.

there are plenty of videos on how to build a kayfun on youtube. seems silly to buy a rebuildable and not have any idea on what to do with it.

Have to start somewhere and I resemble that remark. Thankfully, I have a whole forum of folks I can turn to if things get too confusing to me. ;)

I have a couple of KFL's winging their way to me as I type this.

Most vendors indicate that KayFun style devices are only for advanced users for a reason - safety.

Blow torches aren't necessary but you do NEED an ohms meter or a vv/vw device to check your resistance. Without that you could have some pretty dangerous battery issues.

I have a Prothingy which will work for checking things out. I do believe it won't work if there is something faulty in the build.

There are a bunch of good videos out there on builds for the Kayfun type attys. Rip Trippers does a good one. He is setting this one up at 1.3 ohms for use with a DNA20 regulated mod. If your mod is regulated, you need to make the coil high enough in resistance so it will fire. If your mod is mechanical 1.3 ohms is a great starting point. I would not go lower than that at first. People also like these at up to 1.7 ohms. If I did not have a torch, I would heat my wire with a cigarette lighter instead before building the coil. I've done it and it works fine.

Make sure to keep the wicks clear of the top of the juice channels. Good luck with it, it's a great vape when you have it right :thumb:

No, you do not Have to have a torch or even a Bic lighter - They just make things simpler.
You Absolutely DO need some way of Reading Ohms to check your finished build.

Once the coil is built, installed and Checked for proper resistance(ohms) you can use the Mod to fire the coil to Red(3-5 second pulses) to check Function and burn off any contaminants.
After Dry Burning you can install and wet the wicking material.(Cotton)
(If using Silica this will be an all in one assembly / dry burn) you will not hurt the silica

You are correct Robin , your Provari and the HHV Army will keep you out of trouble but God help the OP , OP do not go any further unless you have a ohm meter or a multimeter or a regulated mod to keep you out of trouble , You bought an excellent clone but without the equipment or the knowledge to use it you're placing yourself in danger , if and when you get the equipment you can stop by the HHV Army subforum and we'll give you all the assistance you need .

For regular coils using thinner wire (32 AWG and up) on Silica wick, a torch is not necessary at all. The wick and wire that comes with most KayFun style kits will be done more like this.
How to Rebuild and Use the Kayfun - YouTube.

A torch comes in handy if you use thicker wire (I.E. AWG 28 Kanthal) and want to do a micro-coil build. Even so, it's possible to make a good micro coil without a torch.
You can see such a build here: A PBusardo Review- Kayfun Lite & The Russian 91% - YouTube (coil building starts around 20 minutes into the video)
