I'm in the same boat. I have acquired a good bit of stuff already after just seven weeks, but I'm trying to not go overboard.
-Original eGo-T kit with upgrade VV batteries, SMOKTECH Artemas DCT, carrying case, bottles, etc on first day
-Kanger Protank I and II (have not touched the II yet), five replacement heads
-Two Kanger EVOD BCC tanks that replaced the eGo-T after 45 days
-eGo-C atomizer with tank tips
-Three additional eGo style batteries (1100mAh, 650mAh, 350mAh), one eGo-T atomizer, one extra eGo USB charger
-Cartomizer replacements, carto hole punch, carto tool, syringe, eye dropper, etc
All of that is definitely within reason IMO. I got some of that and some juice either free or at a deep discount from a buddy who runs a B&M too, so that cut start-up costs significantly.
Right now the juices are where I'm spending lots of $$$ but I found two vendors I like, and hoping to find at least one more for my core juices. I'll try different vendors based on recommendations and specials also, but will stop ordering five or six samples at a time to cut back some. The DIY path is one I'll likely take in the future, but not right now as I'm trying to find a good routine and pattern first.
What I would consider a little past where I wanted to go in my spending:
Innokin itaste MVP
Phiniac custom tank
Those are two that I am really looking forward to getting and probably the real start to my journey as a
vapenerd.

I will say that I don't plan on abandoning the eGo style batteries though, and it's the mods with all the juices that drain long-term cash. I set a budget of $75 a month going forward and hope to stick to that. We'll see, I think the MVP may change the way I currently look at vaping.
One thing I'll say is that investing some, or even a lot of money, has to encourage people to continue vaping and stiff arm the analogs. My #1 reason for quitting the analogs was cost, but now I see other benefits (health, convenience, vape hobby, etc) so it has become much easier to spend a little more. But once I passed the $500 purchase point I realized that going back to analogs and letting this stuff rot WAS NOT an option, even if I wanted that. So I have that going for me, which is nice.
