I almost had it working! I scaped out the inside..lots of little bumps and put it on a batt with duct tape. It puffed a couple of times and went out...lol

If you're bound and determined, use something to stabilize it. Push it really hard together and use a few toothpicks or some plastic as "ribs", then tape them down. I'd hot glue the "ribs" on the cartomizer first, let that set up, then push down and tape the ribs to the battery body. The idea being that the tape will stretch as the adhesive settles, but the "ribs" will keep it clamped tight against the battery since they have a much greater contact surface area.

Little bit of wothless knowledge here. WD-40 DO yall know what it stands for? water dissipating 40th attempt. Ya to much time on my hands. in the army we had a saying also if you cant fix it get a bigger hammer. Oh ya never I mean never use wd-40 on a machine gun it will catch fire, just sayin.

Maybe the staple mod (and duct tape in your case!) will facilitate contact between the metals... I did that on one carto with threading that made it sit too high, and one that wasn't responding well for unknown reasons, and it worked!

I haven't investigated "the staple mod" but that does raise a good point. balled aluminum foil on the inside (careful to keep it lined up and small enough that it doesn't contact the outside and short!), and then foil wrapped around the outside would create something akin to a "battery spring" like you find in consumer electronics battery boxes.

You are right! The worst I've done was a Cappuccino (Or was it PBC?) that wouldn't screw down all the way.

I used a pair of pliers to tighten it and then remove it when it was done. It worked well, but the pliers destroyed the carto.
