Got excited - this was the first time I've seen this. Went to a local watering hole in Phoenix and there were like three people vaping inside! Normally I just go outside and vape with the smokers, out of respect for the people and the establishment (and not wanting to cause any sort of scene). This was my first experience in a place where everyone seemed to be totally familiar with vaping and it was completely acceptable! Made me so happy :)

Last Monday I was eating dinner and having a meeting with 8 others in a restaurant in Burbank CA. Burbank has some very strong anti-smoking laws and the Police love to hand out smoking citations. The Police also love to eat in this restaurant.
After dinner I pulled out my Vape and I was taking some regular hits. Trying to not be obvious or obnoxious about Vaping inside.
There were 2 tables of of Burbank's Finest near by and I noticed they were looking my way, but not doing anything.
Eventually I realized the reason they were looking my way was because behind me was a big tv with Monday night football on it.
They never said a word to me about my Vaping.

Vapers in the wild! w00T!

It's exciting. They could be the exact opposite of you personally but the vaping thing bridges that gap completely.

What gear do you have? What's your rig? What juice are you vaping? Check out my device!

The sharing of experience and information with vape strangers is always fun and exciting.

Excellent news. I hope that by gradually exposing people to our hobby we can mitigate some of the negative associations with it.

I was at Chili's last night and asked our waitress if they allowed e-cigs in the bar. She said she didn't think so, but would ask the bartender who uses one of the 'big ones' and sells them. I didn't get a chance to say hi to the bartender, but it's on my to do list.

Gypsy - AWESOME idea. I'll contribute the first...

For Phoenix, AZ, vaping-inside friendly bar = The Rock - 4129 N 7th Ave. They also have a fun, campy little drag show if that's your cup of tea.

I live in Bend, Oregon. For you not familiar with it, Bend is a destination community of 80,000 and consistently listed as a top ten place to retire, golf, cycle, ski, enjoy nature, etc. The economy is driven by tourism and wealthy retirees. Smoking is banned in our extensive public parks system, all outdoor events, plus within ten feet of any public building or business by law. You rarely see smokers around here with the exception of folks in town from outlying areas. We are the Aspen of Oregon with a huge emphasis on health, fitness, and outdoor recreation.
My point... I have about five local close friends who vape and several from larger cities who visit and go out with us regularly. My wife vapes socially or if we are out for cocktails. We often join our other vaper friends at trendy bars, four and five star restaurants, and many downtown events. All of which are crowded and bustling with people.
Never ONCE, have we been asked not to vape at any event or establishment. Often times someone will say "Is that an electronic cigarette? It is? Oh, I've heard of those! Good for you for quitting smoking! That smells nice"..etc. I usually ask if they mind or ask the servers if there is a vaping policy and so far everyone is cool with it. That's about it. I think if we are cool with about how we go about it, others will typically be fine with it too.

Recently I've been to two sports bar/restaurants that allow smoking. I noticed quite a few tables with people vaping. Of course I was also. Unfortunately, the smell inside was absolutely disgusting. Surprising how short a time it takes after quitting smoking that one finds the smell of cigarettes obnoxious. Only took two weeks for me.

best regards, larry mac
