Me living in California fire safe cigarettes are the law they call them FSC for short. For me that was one of the biggest reasons to start vaping (once i figured out about it an such). Luckilly the brand i smoked was additive free and they did not add the fsc chemicals until it was required by law, now i did some reading and WOW i cant believe they made it a aw ot add such chemicals. In California smokers are not really thought of as a person that cares about thier health at all. So they make it a law to add chemicals to cigarettes so they cause less fires )i am sure thinking more of others than the smoker)
Anyway all i knew is when they added that stuff my cigarettes tasted very chemically and hurt my lungs at first then i noticed more irritation and lung secretions from them it was terrible its insane the crap they add to cigarettes so glad to be vaping!

Pall Malls, which I smoked, had something in them that made them go out when laid down. Evenso, I used a "snuffer" in the ash tray. It wasn't a one of my reason for starting to vape but it sure has been a bonus. No more getting up from bed to check nor driving back home nor going back out to the car to make sure everything was dead out.

When the federal and state cigarette taxes jumped around 2009, making the cost of cigarettes more than double, I was willing to pay the price to continue the habit. When FSC appearing about a year later, I hunted around for places that had old non-FSC stock, but that didn't last long. I found the FSC type tasted stale and caused sore throat. I researched what was put in the cigarettes to make them FSC and that is what cured me of 40 years smoking. E-cigs provided the means that conventional stop smoking methods did not. I encourage smokers to do their own research on FSC to find out what the state (not federal) governments have forced on them in the name of fire safety. The additional health hazards of the chemicals used in FSC were not investigated before making them mandatory. The sad joke is that the additional paper wrap on FSC cigarettes causes the coals to drop off, generate more fly ash to create additional fire hazards.

No, The older you get mortality starts to set in.When you're young you Think I'll just quit some day' That day comes and goes and you're older and still smoking. You know you should not smoke but it is the hardest thing to quit 25years of smoking. I have been smoke free since May 2012. Down to 10mg of nic. I dont know if I could of done this with out the use of e.cigs.

I never thought about the FSC addition when I made the decision to start vaping. I just wanted to act more responsible for my family. Now that you bring it up though, I have noticed a big vhange in the way my lungs feel... good point! Besides the obvious smoke hurting the lungs I never realized, until now, how the FSC did cause more pain in my chest.
