Good evening all...

I have a Joye 510, and I'm trying my hand at DIY juices. I generally prefer my KR808, but I figured the 510 would be perfect for dripping while tweaking new flavors. Unfortunately, I'm not having much luck.

I'm removing the cartridge, dripping 2-3 drops into the atty tube, replacing the cartridge (filler removed), and nothing. I'm getting a bit of vapor, but I'm not getting any flavor. Even with a strong mix, I'm just getting a kinda dekang taste from it. It's a brand new atty, just blew off the primer, vaped a little straight PG, and then tried my flavor.

I must be doing SOMETHING wrong... Any suggestions?

Hopefully that is a manual 510. Dripping is not recommended for auto batteries since leaks can damage them much more easily.

A real drip tip will provide a larger hole so the vapor will reach you quicker. You need to give the drips a chance t soak down to the coil. If you are rasty nasty stuff then that is still primer.

If you are not smelling the vapor then don't expect to taste much (depending on the flavor, perhaps nothing at all without smelling the vapor). The tongue can only sense sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami (msg).

If there's not enough juice dripped on the atty, it won't make much vapor and may taste burnt. If there's too much juice (flooding), then it makes a gurgling sound and has a hard draw. The easiest thing to do is unscrew the atty and drip tip at the same time, then blow it out through the drip tip (not threaded end) onto a paper towel, redrip two drops, and try vaping again.

Thanks for the advice... It's a brand new 510 kit, so whatever comes along with it... It's measuring 2.7 ohms on my meter...

It probably does need to be broken in. Like I said, I prefer my kr8, so I haven't really used the 510 much. Really plan on using it primarily for dripping while I "cook"... I'll use it some more and see if that helps...

Thanks again!

Order a 306 atomizer, standard or LR, and a delrin drip tip. You will get the best flavor you have ever experienced. The 306 has a large exposed bridge with a wick in the center that soaks up the juice you drop. It won't cost you but $10 or less and will be a good investment. The 306 atty will fit your 510 or Ego batteries. If you choose the Low resistance 306, Ego batts are recommended.

Right on... Thanks Dave. I'm still working to figure out exactly what fits what. I really like the convenience of the kr8, but I'm certainly looking to open things up a bit before I graduate to the giant pv that you start up like a motorcycle.

How fragile are those attys? I'm using an actual Joye 510 kit (the $35 one from China)... The LR scares me a bit, mainly because I don't have a ton of backups right now and don't want to screw up too many batteries...

I have had a standard 306 atty with a drip tip in use for several months. I haven't tried the LR because the standard is so good. It's probably some of the best flavor I've had from any atomizer and I have 10 or 12 types that fit the 510 thread. LR attys are universally guaranteed to work on receipt, but have a 7 day warranty. That should tell you they are fragile.

I keep the 306 around and use it daily with an alternate juice. I'll walk over and drip and hit it several times a day for a change. I'm using Ego type B tanks for my main vape just because I can fill a couple of times a day and not have to fill every hour or less like the standard 510 carts.

Gotcha... These are starting to work for me... Work well for dripping directly, still don't really dig the cart. I went a little nuts today and ordered a bunch of stuff, among them a 306, and a couple of drip tips. Ordered my first mod at the same time, so my actual 510 will probably be relegated to "cooking equipment" primarily, but I still gotta learn what to expect from these attys...

Thanks again, DaveP... That was a big help, and things are working much better now...

And thanks cskent... I didn't realize they'd take that long to break in. Working well now.
