I've tried many techniques to extend the time these wicks are useful. Nothing I've tried has made any difference.

At the present moment I've come to speculate that the air needs to be diffused at the hole under the coil, somehow make it less direct.

I have a couple ideas, when I have some time I'll try them.

This would be a good place to post these efforts.

In the mean time replace the wick, its easy and cheap.

Adam, I had a similar problem. Mine was partially the juice I was using. and part of it was I could taste the wick, even when it was brand new. I've got a sensitive palate, maybe your's is too. I'd try some different wicks, there is bound to be one that suits you better. I'd also give a different juice a try. My favorite now is Bruces Cloud pure Caramel Tobacco, I've been vaping it exclusively for a month now. (that's a first for me) My setups last about 8 days before getting kind of funky, and require cleaning. I vape a lot too, if I am awake, I am vaping.

That happens to me too, i posted a new thread: "iatty-sore-throat-when-vaping-maybe-too-much-juice-wick-coil" i didn't realize it was caused because there is something burned on the coil, i am not sure if it is the juice, the wick or a combination of both.

Coild / wick combo only seems to last me about a day to a day and a half performing well, after that, less vapor production, little burned taste, etc.

You could try the SS mesh wick. It wicks really well, and lasts a lot longer than the standard wick.
I have two Iatties, both at about 1.5ohms with mesh wick. I've been using them for a couple of weeks and performance is as good as new. I vape about 3-5 ml per day.

I will try with the SS mesh

I think it is something related to the juice, i just remembered i was using Dekang e-liquid with the first coil / wick i did, the problem begun when i refilled with TV Butter Rum liquid.

10ml a day good god man. i vape between 1-2 on during the week maybe twice that on the weekends

Stock wick only seems to last me about a day to a day and a half on my favorite juice before I burn it out I vape about 9-10 ml a day also at 3.7 and usually between 1.5 and 1.9 ohms.

I honestly think my problem is the juice I vape though.

Chain vaper lol and in all fairness there is probably about 1 ml lost in the wick whenever I change it. But I almost go through 2 5 ml bottles a day I thought I was mistaken but I am measuring with syringes.

How many cigs did you smoke in a day?

Changing coil does waste a little but in the long run you would come out way ahead. Especially with all the more expensive attys coming out. Not to mention when zombies take over and attys are all in china iatty will be right up there with guns and ammo on the must have list

That's precisely why I ordered .53lbs of resistance wire! I'll be vaping flavorless so the zombies can't smell the huge clouds of vapor from my iAtty. ;):vapor::vapor::vapor::p

Same problem here, medium vapor and bad flavor. After a couple dozen attempts I've given up, at least for the time being. Tried some of that nextel wick, more wraps, less wraps, different gauge resistance wire, all different voltages, vaping through the bad taste, dripping right on the coil(which does help some), widening the ceramic cup and upper plastic grooves, changing the way I draw. Every single time I couldn't wait to get a regular carto mounted back on.

If you get it figured out be sure to update this thread and let us know what worked.

for some reason mine really worked well with half a tank or less of juice, i go to where i was just opening it and putting about 25-30 drops in there when it looked sorta dry. might help for you not sure.
