@b4cz28: Usually it's best to get some of each. Some people are allergic to VG just like some are allergic to PG. Plus VG mutes the flavor and throat hit so much, I know if I had started out with 100% VG I would have been extremely disappointed with my vaping experience.

@Rar: most vapers prefer 80%PG and 20%VG, it's uncommon to find sample sized like you want that are customizable as for as PG/VG ratio go though. Most sample sizes just come the way they are, take 'em or leave 'em. I also recommend freedomsmokeusa for sample sizes, they have tons of flavors to try - I think all are 50/50 mix of PG/VG:

I personally enjoy the 80/20 mix myself. Great throat hit with decent vapor production. I've tried 100% VG and while it produces MUCH more vapor, I find it to be very "airy" and not satisfying. Having been a long time Newport smoker, I need to 'feel' my drags and so 80/20 works great for me.

Also, in response to the inital post, I suggest purchasing a USB passthrough device for any type e-cig. It is truly a lifesaver and just plain awsome for when I'm sitting at work or at home. Nothing like vaping for hours on end without worrying about batteries. Of course I have my batteries for when I'm on the go too!

Chiming in with a thumbs up for all the advice here about juices. To cover all your bases, try all VG, 50/50, and the pretty much universal 80/20 mix. That way you can see for yourself the differences and won't be out a ton of money with juice you can't use. I found out the hard way that I can't tolerate a high PG concentration. I'm lucky that my husband also vapes and can use that juice. And also please learn from my mistake of ordering large bottles of flavors I 'thought' I'd like(fruity flavors). They just don't satisfy me and I can't vape them all day. Get sample sizes at first to find if you like tobacco falvors vs fuity, or coffee vs dessert stuff. What sounds good on paper doesn't always translate to the taste buds. Look through each vendor here (always go with ECF vendors and you will never get ripped off) and see what people are saying about them. Also order different nic levels once you find your flavors...you will be surprised how much more nic you're getting than from smoking. Considering most of us use our PV as a pacifier, it would be like chain smoking cigs and doing it with ultra lights vs fulls. There is also a thread that details nicotine overdose so you know what signs to look for. You will be getting a LOT more flavor and nic using non-Blu products. I was really, really surprised at that...I mean, it was labeled as 18 mgs, but my juice at 18 mgs 'seems' much stronger. Maybe the Blu carts were 'stale?'

You will LOVE your new Riva (I have several eGos, basically same thing) and they aren't bulky. You won't feel you've got a huge flashlight or anything.
So glad to have you here and I KNOW you can do this!! Any time you need support, encouragement, or just to vent...we're all here for you!! just like you will be for us. Congrats!!

Most of all, HAVE FUN!!

I ordered 5 or 6 ml samples of 100% VG, 50/50 and 80/20. Also ordered 18 mg nicotine. I'm a little worried about nicotine overdose now, since I have cut down on my analogs t0 under 1/2 pack. My analogs are Carlton menthol, which is advertised as having .5 mg of nicotine. So, 18 mg of nicotine per day is quite an increase. The 12 mg I have now with the Blu aren't satisfying. Of course, it could be the flavor and vapor production. I can't wait until my new products come. Yes - I am using my PV as a pacifier too. :)

Oh, you didn't scare me Miss Kitty. :) In addition to still smoking those .5 mg analogs, I also use a Nicotrol Inhaler, though I will stop that when my Riva and juices arrive. Even though I'm not thrilled with my Blu, it has helped me cut down on my analogs from about 25-30 to less than 10 per day. My breathing is 'less bad'. I'm (sort of) looking forward to quitting analogs entirely once my Riva arrives. I an a chain vaper, though. It seems as if I ALWAYS have either my Nicotrol inhaler or my PV in hand. I can't seem to sit quietly without that comfort.

The OP asked what a cone was... And I didnt read any reply, sorry if any:

The cone is an extensive sleeve which you screw onto your batt and has possibly different aims:
1. Design; look... Its an image add on... Which will enhance the visual aspect and 'feel' of your PV giving a 'more finished'; well-rounded look... Similar to a LASER mod IMO. COOL as hell!
2. Heating up your vape. When 'coned' your vape will be warmer and probably a nicer one. This warm-up feature is considered too much when using LR atties by many...
3. Giving your unit a tighter pull, which is appreciated by many...
4. Last but not least: Holding any liquid in case of flooding and leaking which may prevent you from fully messing up and ending up with a nice case of sauce hands, and this may come in handy for the beginner. Having said that, though, on the other hand, depending on your dripping habits this feature may be counter-productive...

Oh! And the great thing about the RIVA is that the 'newer/ latest' version is a true 3,7 V

i used to smoke 2 pack a day. im going thru around 4 cartos a day now. started out with 12 nic and stepped it up to a mix of 18 and 24. it depends on what i need. 12 just wasnt giving me what i needed. maybe someday i will be able to step down to a 12. try increasing ur nic. i use the 808. yes the little cig batteries need to be recharged. but i like the size, i dont mind recharging and there are plenty of styles of chargers so u can charge on the go if needed. i refill my cartos as well.
