Hi guys, I'm not sure if im being an idiot or if i have some faulty boge 510's but i jsut received them today, never tried them before but i ran out of liquid last week and picked up a skycigs kit to get me through til my vapemail arrived and i thought hey, these cartos are pretty good so i ordered some 510's, wow have i been dissapointed so far, i have filled two, using the condom method and also just dripping from the top. All i have had so far is leakage, no flavour at all or when i have had flavour its been for about 10/15 hits then starts tasting like im running low. Any tips or advice on 510s would be appreciated.

Cheers.

yeah, i filled up until it wouldnt take any more. i have also found that when i blow to try and get rid of the juice in the center hole i end up blowing until most of the juice has dissapeared from the wadding. Should i ba able to see right through the center hole? all the other cartos that i have seen and used i havent been able to see right through.

Yes, you should be able to see light through the center air passage. I always drip fill cartos. On the first fill this can take a lot of dripping, but it's gets fast with time. The Smoktech XL cartos I use hold 1.8 ml, or 50-70 drops of liquid (30 ml plastic dropper bottle) on the first filling. Shorties will only hold 15 drops.

Either way when drip filling don't hold the carto straight up and down when filling. Hold at a slight angle so the drop lands on the outside edge of the filler: between the filler and carto tube. Don't drip into the hole. Rotate carto 1/3 turn between drops. For thicker VG juices wait for for liquid to soak into the filler before adding more. When liquid comes out of the 510 base onto some Kleenex then blot the 510 base several times and set the carto down horizontally for the next 15-20 minutes. Then try to get a few more drops into the carto stopping again when liquid drips out the bottom. Blot dry again then gently blow out the center air passageway onto Kleenex, if needed. It only takes a few puffs to do this. The carto is now fully saturated and ready to use.

That 360 mAh battery is not goinf to last very long at 1.8 to 2.2 ohms. If it's less than 3.4V it won't fire LR cartos very well at all. You want at least an eGo type PV with well-regulated 3.7V and at least a 650 mAh battery to use LR cartos. More than 1000 mAh would be better. VV is plus but not a necessity.

Maybe your battery needs charging?

I fill my cartomizers from the top, it's the fastest way to do it. And, I can start vaping immediately after filling it.

A method I use to avoid getting juice into the center airhole is to plug it with a wooden tooth pick. I drop e-liquid into the carto while holding it at a slight angle. I slowly spin the carto as I drop liquid between the carto edge and the tooth pick. When the polyfill looks wet all the way around, I shake it down like you would a thermometer. This acts like a centrifuge to force liquid towards the connector end of the carto.

I then drop some more e-liquid into the cartomizer, and then shake it down again. I repeat these steps until the polyfill will absorb no more e-liquid. Remove the tooth pick and replace it with a drip tip.

Ready to vape. :vapor:

This method takes only 3 minutes to fill a cartomizer. There is no need to blow air through the carto air tube if you used the tooth pick. Boge cartos are notorious to have a more densely packed polyfill, so they take a little longer for the e-liquid to saturate adequately.

I will echo buzzzlove's recommendations about a more powerful battery if you wish to use low resistance delivery devices. Or, purchase standard resistance delivery devices (2.0-2.4 ohm).

I was curious and played around a little more I found the second battery and it was mostly charged and Im getting 3.37 so Have you tried a freshly charged battery?

Edit: Ive used a dual coil cart and got reading of 3.14 and ok Vapor and flavor Im kind of impressed for being what it is. But thats on a freshly charged battery. I got the same thing you did on a partially charged bat. Little vapor and no flavor.

I use Boges exclusively. For me they are very hard to fill by dripping or using the condom method. I use a small syringe and have not had one bad one in months.

If you drip fill you have to put like 3 drops in at a time and wait for it to absorb into the filler. Even tapping the carto like packing a cigarette it still takes time. And using the condom method you would have to do this very slowly to get the liquid to absorb into the filling. JMHO and my own personal experience.
