What am I doing wrong?

Hello

Been vaping for around 3 months. Loving it, which is, I suspect, probably the reason for my issue.

I'm vaping far more than I would have ever smoked. With smoking roll ups as I did, I would go through about 20 a day, so roughly smoking every 45 mins to an hour. Now that I'm vaping, my e cig is never out of my hand. I go through about 3-4ml a day (if the gauge on my tank in correct) but my problem I'm hoping someone can advise me on is the atomisers / coils as I'm going through five coils a week.

Currently using the Aspire BVC 1.8 ohm brand and, after about a day and a half, with a fully charged battery, I'm just not feeling any throat hit and hardly any "smoke" is coming out. If I change the coil, then the difference is instant (so I guess it's not my tank or battery)

Forums, friends, websites, local vape shop all say I should be getting 2 weeks to 2 months from each coil - so why can't I?

I've tried the kango tank too, with its larger coils and I got slightly better - 3 days, but then the same issue: no hit on the back of the throat and hardly any smoke.

Am I doing something wrong? I guess I am because everywhere and everyone tells me something different - but what can I try differently?

Is it worth paying out mega bucks for an all singing all dancing kit or am I likely to face the same problem because I'm vaping wrong?

Any ideas or suggestions welcomed. Thank you

First off, welcome to the forum.

When your Aspire goes from good to bad, is it by any change right after you changed or filled up with juice.

Is there any consistency to the good/bad transition at all, or does it just come out of the blue.

Also, what kind of juice are you using. Anything dark in color or sticky that might cake on the coil?

Just some thoughts. I use a Nautilus mini daily and the very minimum get at least a week out of a BVC.

Thanks for the quick response, and the welcome.

The first noticeable thing to warn me the coil is in its way out is I don't hear a crackling sound anymore. It starts to sound like clear air going through and sure enough, a few puffs later and nothing

Currently using an oil (which after just picking it up to check the name of it I realise is actually unbranded!) from a local vape shop. It's quite pale looking but when I occasionally get it on my fingers it is quite sticky, yes.

I must admit I've only ever tried two different oils, from two different local shops so I guess it could be that now I think about it. Is there a certain ingredient I should be wary of that is known to cause issues? Any recommended manufacturers I should use?

I read with interest about you using a Nautilus. Noticed that in another thread and a quick scout on the web and Amazon shows only positive reviews. That might be worth a shot I guess. One review says 500 puffs a day gives him 8 days.

Maybe tomorrow I'll count puffs!

An unbranded juice that is sticky sounds very suspicious.

E-juice is slippery like motor oil. In fact you can use it to lubricate o-rings.

Try to get ahold of a juice that has a factory label on it and preferably a child-proof cap.

If you have two vape shops in town, I would assume one of them has some real e-juice that contains nothing but propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, nicotine, and some flavorings.

No way to be sure, but I would bet that juice is the problem.

thanks for the comment. Can you confirm what RBA and RTA are please. Thanks

RBA = Rebuildable Atomizer (tank or dripper)
RTA = Rebuildable Tank Atomizer

These are rebuildable atomisers (for an advanced vaper with knowledge of battery safety, ohms law, amp draw, etc.)

Your eliquid should NOT contain any oil.
