I'm giving up on the dna.. I have a Releaux, Theorin and VTC75 and have yet to be able to get a good vape in temp mode on any of them. I have no problems with other mods like the VaporFlask Stout, X Cube Ultra and IPV6X. What the hell am I doing wrong?! I've set the mod resistance based off info I found on the interwebs as I don't know how to test it but does it really make that big of a difference? We're talking less than a tenth of an ohm here.. I don't know. I'm just so frustrated with it. Somebody Help!

I get great results using TC in my DNA200 mods. If you tell us your specific problem, maybe we can help. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you want.

Cheers,
Steve

The thing that bothers me most is I get a stuttery (not a real word I know) vape. That's the best way I can describe it. It feels like it's pulsing or something. I don't experience this on other mods.

Do you know what grade of SS they use? It's probably either SS316 or SS304. It will make a difference since there TCR's are different.

That being said sometime prebuilt coils can be touchy since the legs are at times a different material then the coils themselves.

One other thing to note. Evolv on 8-8-2016 released a new version of Escribe with an updated Firmware that has really smoothed out the TC on SS316 and 317.

If it's SS316 you want to make sure that's selected for that profile

If that doesn't help you, let me know and I'll try to help further.
PS I set my temperature to 420F-450F at 30-40 watts. Make sure you are on your SS316 profile. If it uses SS304 I can walk you through how to set up a profile for that. Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Steve

I am not familiar with how the DNA does TC but I know that with Joyetech if you set the preheat wattage too high it causes that pulseing effect that you are talking about. It is caused by the initial burst of power overshooting your desired temp. The mod then cuts power to compensate and starts to pulse. If you find the sweet spot for preheat it is much smoother. I have two VTC Minis and a Cuboid Mini. I get a very smooth TC vape from all 3 using the Cleito SS coils. It may be a similar isuue with the others.

When a custom screen logo is loaded to the mod, when is the logo seen?

I figure you are talking about the custom screens I have for my wire profiles. When you cycle through the profiles the custom screens come up. You can also just bring the current one up by holding down the + and - buttons to lock the temp change and click on either button twice.

I also have welcome screens, they come up when you wake the mod up. I have quite a few screens, I make them for myself and friends. Lots of them are sports related. If you need any for a particular wire, let me know and I'll either post them here or PM them to you. :toast:

Cheers,
Steve

Question- say I have loaded a "Ni200" screen and it's being used on (in my case a SMY SDNA75) a particular mod TC profile (TC 'Normal'), will the custom logo now be displayed instead of "TC Normal"?

ETA- I understand if you have no working knowledge of that particular mod in case it's different.

ETA2, Better that I open a new thread or PM you w/further questions- I don't want to derail this thread any more than I already have, and sorry to CraigTime!

I guarantee you it'll be worth it to see this through until you get on top of the problems you're having.

This may be a bit of a hassle but if you could take a screen shot of the graph that shows the mod settings and output, that could be helpful. The graph is shown on the "Device Monitor" screen, you select what parameters you want displayed. Example below:

Never had pulsing on a dna (got 4 of em). I do know the pulsing your talking about. Used to get that on the kbox (not sure if its still an issue with them). Now days I only use ss 316l for TC and have no issues. You might try using the steam engine and download the tfc tables. I've never used what the mod maker provides. Basically just wiped the wires and uploaded the ones I want/build with. You might watch what your mod is doing when you fire it in the escribe device monitor. It's pretty neat.

When I switch profiles I don't see lets say for example:
Profile 1 Ni200 because I loaded this screen.
ni200 .jpg
I would see the screen. I have a different screen loaded for each profile (1 power mode, 7 for TC). Speaking of that, I just received some NiFe30 so I need to add a profile for that - time to get rid of SS304 since I don't use that wire atm.

I have my profiles done by wire type. Mine are for example
1. Power Mode
2. SS430
3 SS316L
4. SS317
5. SS304
6. NiFe52
7. Titanium
8. Ni200

I only see the screens when cycling through the profiles. During normal firing the big display is either the temperature (if I'm in temp dominate mode) or the wattage. The 3 three smaller displays are whatever I have them set too.

I hope that answers your question.
