already made my intro but figured im still new so i put this here.
brief history... for the last 2 years or so ive talked about quitting analogs mainly because of the price at first. 6 months ago i had a reality check and had a 2 day hospital stay with what i thought was a heart attack which turned out to be an ulcer and acid reflux. first thing when i got out..lit an analog and continued my habit. the next morning i felt pretty good, did the morning routine of making coffee ect. lit an analog and BAM, that same feeling started up again. after some calls to my doc i ditched the analogs right then and got a greensmoke single use at my smoke shop ut their expensive and they dont do well with stock so i had to look elsewhere and found some cheapies at a gas station. i can honestly say ive been revolted by analogs since then and have not had a single craving. i made sure i used the e-cig in my fist rather than hold it the same, just tried to break the things i did before.
anyhow... now for the point.
i ordered an ego-t, a couple atomizers, 1000mah batt and some carts and juice...should get tuesday!!!! the more i read the more i envy what everyone else has. i wonder if i should of got cartimizers instead of atomizers. the more i try to read and educate myself the more questions i come up with. im starting to catch on to the lingo but have a ways to go before i get it.
the 2 main reasons i wanted to quit analogs was to save money and be heathier, my incident hastened my decision. i know im gonna be heathier now as ive noticed a great change in alot of things, BUT..... am i really gonna save money?? atomizers, cats, cartimizers, all the different things im gonna be needing. plus if i get too envious of all the cool toys to vape with and decide to go better...man, i dont know, the bottom feeders have my interest, so much cool stuff im like a fat kid in a bakery!!!:laugh::laugh:

Well, saving money is really going to be depending on how much you get wrapped into this lifestyle. Starting up can cost some money. Basically the same amount if you smoked a pack a day. But after that, you'll be saving a lot of money if you continue to use only that setup. Supplies in general do not cost a lot.

Constantly buying devices will obviously drain your bank account. Since you need to buy the correct batteries, chargers, etc. etc. Making an informed decision on what you really want and living from that decision. You'll be saving money in the long run.

The best advice I can give you in terms of trying to figure out what you really want is to make threads in other sections of the forum such as general discussion. Which will allow you the opportunity to get advice from people about the what they like/dislike. Once you had gathered enough information about what you really want. Then saving up for it won't be to bad at all.

Fat kid in a bakery LOL....for sure on that one. I have had to discipline myself on spending and even then have only saved about $50 over three months. Not quite the big money saver I hoped, at least not yet. A lot of my initial expense was 3 different minis that were practically useless to me and very frustrating. Then there is finding a liquid, or even a vendor that suits you. Now that I have a Riva 1100 Mah and a go to vendor the money flow has slowed way down. I am looking at an E-power but only when at least one of the Riva batteries craps out.

My best advice is to realize that for every one that says something is fantastic there is another that says it stinks so buy small on liquid till you find what you like, and if you just have to have a mod start with one on the classifieds. Less is definitely more when it comes to experimentation IMO.

i have 60 ml of juice coming with my order. a 30 ml of a tobbacco flavor i thought id like to be my all day and then 3 10ml bottles of different flavors. then...last night i bought a great deal from another member to sample on, like 27 different flavors so i should be good on trying new stuff to vape.
the cartimizer thing is still sticking in my mind and wishing id of got some boge ones but im sure ill find a good deal to try them out on the fs area like someone getting rid of a couple for cheap.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news. I'm not a doctor or expert on health related questions, but it is my understanding that nicotine intake can promote acid reflux, whether by analog or electronic means. Trust me I realize the best time to smoke or vape is right after eating. Which further increases stomach acid production. It is my understanding that Food increases stomach acid production, and nicotine does too. So vaping right after eating could still lead to problems with acid reflux and ulcers. I suggest seeking out more qualified opinions than what I'm able to give, but I'm not sure vaping is going to help you much with stomach acid issues (or heart issues). In my experience I began intaking more nicotine when I switched to vaping, mainly because it was brand new to me, and those analog craving were still strong, so as far as your "short-term issues" I'm not sure that vaping will be your miracle cure.. in any case, I hope it works for you and I wish you luck. As far as cartomizers go, Smok Tech Dual Coils are for lack of the a better word, THE BEST! And yes there are great deals out there that can save you a significant amount of money on juice and cartomizers. Just let me know if want some help locating the bargains.

If your looking at a deal for cartos. Than this is one of the best known vendors for that on the ECF:

Crystal Clear Vaping

*They have 15 (3 pack) carto deals for 20 bucks on the boge's with free shipping, syringe, and a drip tip.

Also, the nicotine that you get from vaping is far less compared to traditional cigarettes that have nicotine enhancement chemicals in them. Paraphrasing another member on here. E-cigs is a poor nicotine delivery device. But, I'm sure that more people will give their advice on this topic.

Also, check this section of the forum out sometime for more information:

I have saved a TON of money. $8 a day? I don't even come close to spending $8 a day on my vaping. Sure the initial investment can seem pricey.
I worked mine out like this. I took the cost of 3 cartons of ciggies. That was my initial budget, and 3 cartons would last me approximately 2 months and one week. I spent 2 cartons worth of money on my initial set up and a gazillion flavors and nic juice (cause it's cheaper to make your own) and I vaped myself silly for 4 months straight. Yes. I saved money.

I have gone in with pals for juice and cartos, I have participated in the groups here that buy in bulk from China and Italy. I think I may have enough flavor to last my lifetime, my batteries last for 6-8 months, I usually lose them before they conk out. I re-use my cartos' and haven't have a single problem. Yep, I saved money! I also have decreased the amount of pills I was taking for various things, I can breathe like a normal human being again. Yep, I saved my lungs and my life and saved money to boot!

No investment can replace your health. I would rather be in the hole financially and have my health back, but, I happened to save money instead! :D

Congrats on your eGo T system. I have the exact same setup...some folks seem to have a lot of issues with leaks from the tank system. I have had none unless you count the "punch another hole in thing" mod which turned out to be a joke. I highly recommend you get familiar with cartos though. They'll give you a better TH, better taste, and more vapor production than the tanks on the T. Dual core is awesome. I have an eGo Mega Dual Coil carto on the way for mine...suggest you think about the same. Either way, you have a great start!

lol you CAN save money, if you can exercise some form of self control :D a concept which has eluded me from birth

it is a hobby for me i guess. i want to try all the different liquids, and get the new mods....ya know...

but if i HAD to stop buying stuff right now, and vape on a budget, i could. i have logged many hours on this :censored: computer searching for the best deals (also part of the fun and enjoyment i get from my "hobby") , and i could ABSOLUTELY vape for way less than i could smoke ciggys.

it's all up to you :)

I know how you feel, I'm new too. I have been smoke free for a few months and i don't miss it. I don't know that I'm saving $, as that wasn't my goal. I quit for health reasons, so I didn't smell like ...-tray all the time, and burn everything I own. I can tell a huge difference in my breathing and stamina already. IMHO if it costs me more $ in the long run, that's fine with me (even though I know it won't.) Batteries, attys, cartos, whatever, they've got to be cheaper than the end result of smoking analogs all your life!

I am new too. I quit analogs a week ago Sunday. I bought a kit from an e-cigarette company. It was ok and expensive but not refillable with my choice of juice it had to be their cartos. I ran into someone that pointed me here and I devoured information. I limited myself to one kit and anticipated a juice overload because there is sooo much great options out there. I have bought two kits and extra cartos and a lot of juice. My juice I kept to two cartons cost wise and the new kit had to be less than that initial investment. I love it. I havent had an analog in a week. I wont upgrade my system for awhile but thats just me. I want to get educated and vaporing first before I decide the things I want to get. It is worth every penny! You will enjoy the healthier life.

Hi, sooner....the tank system is a great concept, but, for me, the tank attys were too finicky...your results may vary, but I got tired of messing with the wicking....dual coil cartos work great on those batteries tho, and get a regular 510 atty for a good way to test juice flavors...you'll need a drip tip as a mouthpiece with a regular atty...
When you get your kit, make sure you blow out the attys...they used to ship with an oily preservative in them which tastes nasty if you don't blow it out first...and make sure you push the tanks on good and tight to properly pierce them...

overall, Id say that the ego style is a good, versatile setup....I think you'll be happy with it....
good luck...

If you bought a tank ecig w/ a sealed manual battery (as you did), then also buy a couple of plain 510 atomizers and 510 drip tip for testing juices (so you can clean one while using the other). And the most popular and simplest cartomizers are Boge (learn on standard resistance, then you might want the hotter LR 2.0 ones which BTW also use battery charge faster).

Be sure to check out the deals and steals thread in the PIF social forum. They post codes that can help you save a bit on what you are spending.
ahhh, who am I kidding, all the deals in the D&S thread are just making me spend money like crazy! In my defense, its because I can't find a juice that does not taste like crap to me.

Using E-cig's is a kind of progression to find out you need a big battery to last you as long a possible, so you work your way up to more power. Then you try different catomizers to find what works best for you and how long they last. How convenient they are to use and take with you. Then buy juices to see what you like and hate. Then once you get a mod/battery you like and a very few e-liquids you like and a couple of carto's you like, then you will start to save because you only order what you like and works for you. Then the last thing is to learn when the carto's quit performing like they should, then throw them and use a new one, or you will get frustrated with a nonperforming carto and not enjoying a good vape. I hope this helps.

The hard part I have found is finding something that works (satisfies), I am using a duel coil cartomizer on my ego and it seems to be doing the trick and the clear ones are cool as you can see when its getting low
I like the DC clears also. It teaches you when to add E-juice because you can see inside. In my experience the DC carto's last longer too, they don't burn the diaper around the coil as quick as a single coil does and they hold more juice so I don't have to top off as often, I think that is why the DC's don't burn so quick because they hold more juice, and so they stay wet longer. So far the Clear DC are my favorite carto's

IMHO I liked attys in the beginning, because it was easy to try lots of different stuff relatively easily. Cartomizers are now my mainstay, because I have a primary flavor that I like and can just top off. Typically once you use a particular flavor, it's a pain to wash, rinse & spin her out to change & thats not a guarantee that you'll rid the cart of the previous flavor, especially stronger flavors, HTH
