I have been curious about all the different safety measure used for pv's. For example, I've seen some, albeit limited, information about batteries having protective circuits to prevent over chaging/under charging. But what are all the differnt safety measures available and how do they all work?

Also, mods can have a few safety measures too like vent holes, which I think I understand. But what other measures can be taken?

On a more specific note, what protections does an eGo battery offer?

Battery protection circuits do three things over voltage , under voltage protection and also they have over discharge protection. Meaning it the load /amps get to high protection will kick in. Besides vent holes the only other thing i can think of off hand is a fuse although that is really what over current protection is some folks like to slap a polyswitch in as a fail safe. Here is a link to a 2amp one they also have higher values . Component: PolySwitch 200 - 2Amp limit @ 20'C
