I dont mind the knurled locking ring at all,in fact,once gold plated,that thing gives an accent that make it very stylish.

IMO - I feel the hole is necessary in case it ever seizes - that way a tool can be inserted to try and dis-engage the threads. Also it looks nice there even if never needed.
The GGTS in it's current form is just beautiful, functional art. It's not your run of the mill plain looking ss tube mod.
IMO - the all mechanical button the way it is now is short enough - I just like everything the way it is. That's just my way of thinking. I don't won't to have to turn the venting cap to lock.
I hope a mechanical button for TS never changes.

Ii don't endorse any change - GGTS in it's current state and form it just the most functional, beautiful, elegant and well thought out PV in the world. I'm getting a headache right now over this. Not embellishing either folks, I'm stressed

I'm not stressed. Just glad to be fortunate enough to have some of the ts' in thier most perfect form. Nice thing is I really feel that these will never need to be replaced/upgraded/changed. New may be more efficient or streamlined or fancy but we can hang on to the oldies but goodies. 
I have to admit I am having a hard time picturing Imeo's changes but I trust the designer. He hasn't steered me wrong yet. (ohh and if I don't like it I already have one of the current style LOL)

There are PV's that sport twist lock featured bottom tubes, however I don't buy them I buy GG's because they don't copy, they're copied.

With the incidents spoken of, I can see a need for some sort of safety regs/endorsement from an indepent group with actual engineering qualifications. But I'm a little fuzzy on the credibility of an organization who accepts 'registered supplier' fees acting as the governing body.

I'm not opposed to the regs. Imeo has manufactured the GG line to be safe as well as beautiful because he takes pride in his creations. Other suppliers will gladly relieve this community of money and sell them garbage or worse.
IMO - as well as the GGTS is made - I feel the following would happen before a TS would fail with all the safety features it has already.
Does this mean we'll see from June 2012 lot's of GGTS's in the classies for sale. Man I'm gonna need more microfiber cloths, lots more
