Making my first attempt at a banana custard. I am at 10% CAP vanilla custard V1, 6% FA banana and 2% TFA graham cracker clear. Needs steeping. So far hardly any flavor. Any wisdom here would be appreciated.

I don't have any experience with the FA banana, but I know FA is usually pretty strong. Is there any chance you're over on that flavor? All I can say is the 10% CAP is where I like it, and for me it does improve with steeping but doesn't get much stronger imo.

Hopefully someone will pop in with some better suggestions.

I have no idea about Grants but I'm vaping this recipe as I type. I just made it so it's shake and vape at the moment and it's still delish.

Edit: I should add that I'm at 10% Cap and 2% TFA.

I love Creme De Menthe flavour and also Khalua and Creme. However having bought the concentrate from juice factory using the reccomended 5% I found it lacking something. So I added Tasty Vapes Vanilla to it and bingo! it was Purrrfect 50% Khalua and 50% the Vanilla mentioned. I enhanced mine to 4 mg and using my Aspire Atlantis with a 0.5 ohm coil and the Eleaf set to 18EW very nice.

Yeah, 7 Leaves is good, and I like to use it as a base for more potent flavors. LOL, there is ALWAYS something new to test, isn't there? Mixing is a great hobby with an endless universe of flavors to explore.

The Oakwood is interesting. I read somewhere a method for taste testing whiskey. You put it in a shot glass, then cover the glass with your palm and turn it upside down for a moment to get some on your hand. Then you rub your palms together really fast for a few seconds. This burns off the alcohol so that when you smell your hands, you can get a feel for the flavor without the burn of the alcohol impeding your senses. This helps you know what notes to look for when you're drinking it, too. Oakwood reminds me of that whiskey flavor without the alcohol. This makes sense because whiskey is aged in oak barrels. If you've never done this and you don't have any whiskey to try it with, the next best way I can think of to describe the flavor is barbecue sauce. Kind of sweet and tangy, but woody too.

I finally picked up the Oakwood flavor on this order and I'm glad I did. I'm thinking this will make it's way into several of my mixes.

Anyways, this is delish without the Oakwood and even better with it imo.

I don't have the 3 five, but that sounds good. Thanks for reminding me about the oakwood, I haven't used it in a while and forgot about it. That's the problem with having too many flavors on hand (aka first world problems), I suppose. Anyway, it's a good time to revisit that one.

Interestingly, I just tried a "shake n vape" of just the 10% CAP Vanilla Custard without any other flavoring. STILL hardly any flavor, but smells awesome. Perhaps it's the high VG base I use............ Oh well, I will let it steep! -Time will tell.

VG is not known for being a good flavor carrier. With a little steeping and shaking the flavor should start to come thru for you. One thing you can try is to mix a smaller batch with more PG and see how the flavor is and then make larger batches with a higher VG ratio for your finished product. When I am experimenting i will mix up small 5ml batches of 50/50 and taste test them on a smok 360 mini dripper. If it taste good there I will try it in a G5-H2 tank and then decide if I want to mix up bigger batches for dripping or for tanks. I use tanks %90 of the time but enjoy dripping at times too and have some juices I mixed up just for my magma or Patriot that is high VG.

Ive got this steeping right now. I used:

EM 1%

I've never had the real deal to compare, but I'm a vanilla and custard fiend! So I'm sure it'll be good!

Its been aging almost 4 weeks. Smells great! I'm going to load it up Thursday (1 month mark) and see how it is. Looks pretty good too! It was clear when I mixed it.

Here's what I made, yesterday not today. Epipemods makes a juice that I LOVE called Shire Malt. Its insanely fantastic!

Ive tried many times to find a recipe that comes close. This is about as close as anyone has come! I found it on a recipe site so it's not mine. The test batch was so good I made a 100ml bottle! The only problem is it needs to age a LONG time!

All TFA
555 DK Tobacco 8%
Marlboro M Type 2%
Brown Sugar Extra 2%
Caramel 1%

I also made a Cinnamon Danish type:

All TFA:
Cinnamon Danish Swirl 8%
Hazelnut 1%
Malted Milk 4%
Sweetner 2%

Smells amazing! I'll try it at the end of the week.

I have on the recommendations of those on ECF bought the large bottle of Grants Vanilla custard and right out the mail it was great. About a month and a half later it had serious favor fade and developed a "dirty" taste. I finished the bottle eventually and was glad it was gone. Any mixture of Cap's vanilla custard (v1), some french vanilla deluxe and a smidgen of bav or sweet cream makes just as good a custard as Grants in my opinion, without the flavor fade or change with time.

Now Grants Vanilla Pudding was also awesome right out the mail and a few months later was still awesome. The flavor stayed with it and didnt change with age. Was sad to see that bottle empty.

Yeal, but I probably won't stick to my guns lol. I have some tobacco absolute ordered that should be here tomorrow so naturally I'll probably be mixing some of it.

I absolutely LUV LUV LUV Cap Vanilla Custard v.1 - I'm not sure which version ur using. I could pretty much use this flavor in everything. When I have a juice that's -- ehh. Meh? Add 4-6% VC. 2-4 days later bam that juice is way better lol.
I've never used it at 10% em when making a vanilla custard flavor I have always kept it at about 8% and then added in other flavors. This is one flavor that changes DRASTICALLY over time. I love it at all stages. It morphes though it really does.

I do feel it needs supporting flavors - I've seen some vape it alone - not me - I always have like 4-6 other flavors in the recipe. So many ways to go but it really needs to steep. I can't wait so I make a big batch and put it aside then a smaller one to vape immediately.

Oh and I mix and vape as high VG as you can get

Let's hope that flavor fade isn't the problem JohnnyDill is having. I usually order the 13ml size but it still lasts me a couple of months without problems. I keep my flavors well sealed and in the refrigerator though.

Sweetart recipe is simple mix of 10% sweet and tart with 2% EM

French Vanilla Deluxe 3% (TFA)
Sweetner 2% (TFA)
EM 1% (TFA)

Ive also made this recipe with 5% FA Apple Pie. Ran out of FA so now using the TFA. Is good with either. The apple fritter requires a pretty long steep though. I crock pot steep it for 4 hours at 150 and then put it up for a couple of weeks at least. The sweet spot for me is 5 weeks. I've got friends who like it after a week or so,but for me this is a juice that gets better with age. If you try it, let me know what you think

Mixed up 15ml of this tonight and gave it a whole 2 hours steeping before giving it a taste As a shake and vape, its not bad. Very mellow flavor that is good. I am gonna have to mix up a larger batch to put on the rack for some steeping because I dont think this 15 ml will last the week.

Also mixed up tonight 30 ml of capella's bold and mediums using my creamy tobacco recipe. Only difference is I increased the tobacco to %12 and instead of %3 Kentucky bourbon I changed it to %1 ECX cognac. Gonna let it sit for a few days and give it a try.

Added comment: I tried a tank full of the bold tobacco in a G5-H2 clearomizer. Awesome tobacco flavor on the inhale and just a taste of the cognac on the exhale. Very yummy!

Just an update:

So I pulled it a day early as I was cleaning my Reo and said "...what the hell...!"

I filled the Reo with it and dry burned and re wicked my 1.2 ohm single coil on the Odin. I squonked and took a vape...

NOTHING! It tasted like warm moist air!!! After a minute I realized I had left a little water in the drip wells and the wick soaked it up and that's what I was vaping at first.

I fired the coil and squonked a few times to work the water out and took another vape. I must say I am EXTREMELY happy!!! Its vanilla custardy with a hint of caramel goodness, and isn't lacking in the flavor department! I vape a lot of NT's Custards Last Stand and this is very reminiscent of that. Albeit a bit simpler in profile.

So far I'm stoked! Since figuring out my drops/ml failure I've had 3 diy juices that have turned out great!!!

Oh! I mixed it 6mg 50/50.
