I'm using 28 ga. Kanthal with enough wraps to resist at about 1.8 ohms. I put it on a mech for a while, then a reg mod between 3.6 and 3.8 volts, depending on how I want the toke. I usually vape DIY unflavored (@ ~25 mg/ml), but sometimes I add a bit of flavor. Even though flavor isn't a priority for me, my 'build specs' may help you some how.

I have the MTL, but has it set up for RDL.
0.6 ohm St St coil...3.0mm running it at 17W.
    Top notch flavor RDTA.
Thank you. I will give it a try. I'm currently running a 1.0 3mm D 24G set up. I thought the more coverage, the better the flavor. This obviously didn't work out to well

Thank you. I will try this also.

I'm running 26/36 ss316L clapton, 3mm ID, 0.5Ω coil. 16w-30w. I have the 2.5mm AF insert installed so I can get an airy MTL or a decent restricted DL. Using cotton or rayon I get great flavor from any of my DIY mixes.

I don't have a Berserker Mini. The Brunhilde is more of an RDTA than it is an RTA. Its design is more like an RDA than an RTA. IMO, comparing a design that leans RDA to that of an RTA is not an apples-to-apples comparison.

A proper RDA or RDTA will always serve up better flavor versus an RTA.

I own many RDA's and RTA's. The Brunhilde offers RDA like flavor. In your face flavor. The Brunhilde is pretty straight forward to setup and wick.

So my issue is obviously coil related. I don't have access to Clapton wire. But I do have access to any kanthal or ss. I do have a Clapton coil jig I could use if I can remember how. Thank you for your info.

24g will take a bit to ramp up. 26g would ramp up quicker. 28g even quicker.

Yes, more coverage = better flavor. Clapton coils provide more coverage and offer excellent flavor.

I've also run 28g*3/36g 3mm ID 0.47Ω N80 Alien coils in the Brunhilde. Aliens have a lot of surface area and serve up excellent flavor. Look like this...

If you ever feel the need, WIREOPTIM - Precision Winding For Optimal Performance , is where I get my wire from. They used to be the old Lightning Vapes. They have excellent quality wire and ship fast.

    Good luck!

I'm not into complex coils so I didn't think I could help you much, but I'm glad you got it the way you want.
I'm going to try your build tomorrow. I have enough 28 gauge to run a football field. I just made a Clapton coil jig and wanted to try it out. The whole process made me realize what a filthy mouth I can have. So yea, basic is probably better on my blood pressure.

I just got in some ss 316l wire. I made a Clapton coil with the specs you suggested and installed it. Very nice flavor. I was wondering why my Beserker mini was blowing it out of the water in the flavor department. Come to find out, the Beserker mini came with N80 mtl Clapton coils. My thoughts are that the Kanthal Clapton coils I was using were good coils. But N80 and SS beat Kanthal in the flavor department. Just my opinion. But thank you and everyone else who chimed in and the advice given. Good group of people here as always.

Great stuff Mate, there is Plenty of flavour in the Brunhilde:thumb:
I never have liked Kanthal wire myself. Ni80 is much better, it Rocks:headbang:
