What are your favorite labels?

I picked up some generic labels from the grocery store, and I'm finding that they get on my nerves. The goo! I could get some goo-gone, or I could just pick up some better labels. Any resources that you all like in particular? Why do you like them/what makes them better?

I put a few strips of the green painters tape on a old leftover half tile from our kitchen backsplash, fine sharpie and a blade. Its easy to write on, cut what you need and they so far stick very well and I don't need goo gone. I bought labels and they left some mighty tough residue. I rarely carry juice around so fancy labels isn't necessary for me.

Small sized post it notepads work well when I cover them with a piece of clear packing tape, and the tape has little residue when used. If I'm making a lot of labels I use a writing program and type out what I want in font and size, then cut them out using the packing tape to apply.

I use a Brother PTouch label maker, which is good for labeling a lot of different things. I bought it years ago so I don't remember the exact model, but they make a number of different ones that use the same label tape. The label tape comes in different widths/colors, but I use the black-on-white 1/2" for most everything. My labeler takes up to 1/2" tape, but some models take up to 1". The laminated tape sticks well to most everything but doesn't leave much residue and what it does leave can easily be wiped off with a paper towel and a bit of alcohol.

Standard masking tape. Sticks well to plastic & glass, easy to write on with a fine tip sharpie, and doesn't leave behind any glue. I use it on both my juice bottles and on my many tanks.

Of course, it's not pretty either.

I just print on regular paper with my printer. cut it out and tape on bottle with Magic type scotch tape. cover the paper well and it works fine.

Ditto. Been using one of these for years. Just make sure the bottle has NO liquid on the outsides, or else the label will not stick.

Another vote for P-touch labels. They hold up well to getting wet and flex OK on plastic squeeze bottles. Labels on my glass bottles in the freezer are still firmly attached.

I use Avery 6120 peel & stick labels. Perfect size, labels come off easy and rarely leave any residue. Only downside I see is they're normal paper labels and not plastic or coated, so if they get wet they lose colors. No biggie cause most of my juice doesn't last long enough for the bottles to ever get wet lol.

Thank you everyone for the ideas. I might head towards the brother label maker, because let's face it, those things are awesome. I had one of those punchy ones where you slide the wheel around in the 90s, and I got label-happy with it haha. I can see myself doing that again!

Only issue I have is the peel and stick paper backing is so hard to remove with my fat fingers even with that little removal tool built into the unit.

The one's today are electronic so you just type and print. Fun to use and labels are durable. Labels are water proof and printing won't wash off when cleaning bottles. Only issue I have is the peel and stick paper backing is so hard to remove with my fat fingers even with that little removal tool built into the unit.

Bend the label in the middle and it will open the part that peels of it so it's easier to pull. Assuming it's the kind that splits of course.

No these are ink and label roll cartrages from a ptouch they need to be peeled from the end. there are no perferations or splits in the backing paper.
