You know what one of my pet hates is? These crazy overpriced vaping "mods" that people seem to wear like badges, "I paid $268 for my ProVari, so it must be the best thing in the world." All these fancy "mods"-- wait, I hate the way the word "mod" is thrown around for these mass produced big battery holders. Yes, that's what they are...battery holders, with a switch that puts out power that powers a heating coil coated in liquid, that creates a vapor. A "mod" is something that is crafted into something different than it's original purpose to serve another purpose. Like the Altoids mods. Or the old school "flashlight" battery mods of old.
Back to the fancy mods... They're just power supplies, people!! Some have variations that you can't even detect without an electrical engineering degree and a fancy oscilloscope. People bash one battery operated power supply over another. They get into arguments over which one is "better". And for what? Bragging rights? Heh, I bet the sellers of these devices love the debates, and arguments though. Negative publicity is just as effective in piquing interest as positive publicity. And hype hype hype!
Whatever keeps you off the nasty cancer sticks, is the best. I have been vaping (and there's nothing wrong with that term, imo) for over 3 years now, and I've tried so many different devices, batteries, atomizers, cartomizers, tanks, atomizers, liquids, etc etc over the years, and I really don't care much about what device may have the coolest looking wave on an oscilloscope... I just don't want to go back to smoking.
In the past 3 years, vaping has gotten so complex, it's ridiculous. It's become more akin to car modding and an enthusiast hobby than something to save lives. I've seen so many newbies coming here after seeing some fancy "mod" video review on YouTube, and buying a ProVari but not even understanding the basics, it just makes me want to rage and cry at the same time. It's so overwhelming to someone new, I imagine the "scene" has turned away lots of potential vapers, just because it's just too much conflicting information to sort through. And the fanboys/fangirls arguing over which device is the best, can't help either.
