Actually, it was just a week. It just took an extra three weeks to decide if I ever wanted to bother posting here again. And I'm actually very proud of that suspension, but I'll refrain from saying why.

John D, I just have to ask because I've been dieing to find this out:
Did you at anytime notice an 'Asterisk' hovering anywhere around your name before or during the process of said suspension?
:D

LOL Meli .... hey, my entire life has an asterisk next to it. :) And I'm wondering why it says "Ultra Member" under my name and not "Provisional Member" LOL

Loved your PM by the way - "Friend" request is on the way.

To which I say, 'it may be a pacifier but it keeps me from ripping your annoying face off.' ;)

Gypsy, thanks for giving me some cover - always appreciated. LOL

Lucky for you, the person to whom you are responding is very kind, sweet, and very forgiving*. :)

The entire USPS, all of it, I've had it with them. I'm going to start looking for vendors that offer UPS or FedEx instead.

That's what happens when a business isn't profit motivated and subsidized.........unions are awesome
I deliver to the USPS at times and trying to get them to use 2 brain cells at the same time is quite a challenge.

Of course I'm a right wing nut job.....I believe in personal responsibility, NOT government responsibility...:)

That's odd ... I get fantastic delivery from USPS. Almost all my stuff comes that way, and I'm never disappointed in the delivery time. I typically get delivery from one to three days from shipment date. Heck, I even got two packages from Greece in under 10 days each ... I must be in a "good" part of the country, I guess.

I must be in the good place as well, since I never have issues with the delivery.

Government subsidy isn't always a bad thing, nobody complains about having interstates, or the rail roads. But yeah, when mismanaged for decades, you're absolutely right.

Keep in mind, as I've mentioned before, I live on the set of O' Brother Where Art Thou, two weeks from everywhere. :D

Seriously though, lately I've had nothing but bad luck with them. Losing contents of packages, having priority shipments sit in one spot without moving for multiple days, shipping to the wrong address (local issues), etc.

I feel compelled to stick up for the USPS; I think their service is pretty darn good, and when I track my shipments, they always just move in and move out of distribution centers like clockwork. And they cannot IMO rightly be entirely, or even mostly, blamed for lost contents of packages. To me, that problem falls more squarely on the shoulders of the person who packaged the shipment.

But the main thing that I think a lot of people don't take into account is that unlike private shippers, the USPS is required by law to engage in activities that are inherently unprofitable, and that private shippers can simply pass on. If there's a guy 200 miles north of Nome, Alaska who can receive mail only by float plane or dogsled, the USPS must deliver letters to him for 44 cents, even if it costs them a hundred bucks to do so. Not all of their routes are profitable, but they must deliver mail to any and every address in the country, no matter what.

Personally, my hat is off to them, I'm glad they exist, and I certainly hope they continue to exist.

Sitting down, facing forward.
While I am ambivalent toward USPS, they do provide a valuabe service at a rate that is far below what a private carrier would charge. The fact that Congress runs the USPS explains its disfunction very plainly. Keep in mind that it is a service created to help the country flourish and was never designed as a "profit maker". All things considered, they do a reasonable job at a very low cost. My packages always arrive in a timely manner and the letter carrier puts big packages either on top of my fence or inside the gates, and puts them in plastic if it's raining. I really can't complain much.

As stated maybe it's a geographical oddity. Sorry for hijacking the pet hates thread.

Pet hate, not remembering if I've had five puffs, or only four, and getting a half dry atty puff. YUK!

I can't help it ... when I read that I instantly thought of Dirty Harry ... "Did I fire six shots, or only five? Do you feel lucky, punk?"

being stuck with no vape cause your brand new lava tube knock off broke on the first day! You cant write this sht. Oh wait, I just did. Time for something else. Think im going with the smok telescope. Would be a good way to use all the batteries I have sitting around.
Had one and sold it before ever firing it up.

They usually have crooked 510 connections and the button plunger isn't solid metal, it's plastic with a thin brass shell over it and then plated to be shiny...

On mine the + pin isolator broke in half. Out of the box it was way to far in the hole. Made me wonder so I put the DID on it and it would not fire at all. Had to pull the pin up. That was the end. Never took the DID off for a week and when I did it was over.

I find the term "analog" annoying. Vaporizers are no more digital than cigarettes are. "Stinkies" is good, though.

Some are digital. I just found out that the output on most is a Square wave like in the digital world not a flat dc output. Some have controllers that probably have more brain power than the Apollo space craft. So it may not be that far off.
